Being mothers day, a lot of restaurants were booked out in Santa Monica but fortunately we found a table here. The place had an authentic Italian vibe with polite staff and reasonably priced meals. I can honestly say that the meatballs are the best I've ever had, would definitely recommend and would love to go back next time I'm in... More

Very fresh ingredients, service was good. It wasn't busy, so I anticipated a little better service. Good Italian restaurant.

Decided to give this place a try as the menu seemed pretty decent. They have both inside and outside seating and it's a fair sized place. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their appetizers and main course. The service was efficient to the point where as soon as one of our party literally put his fork down the bus... More

Location good, service OK but presentation and taste of food below average. I would recommend to register their chef in charge (April 17, afternoon) for a "how to make risotto" course.

All I can say is that this is an average restaurant in the traditional Italian trattoria style. It's clear that this place is tired and need a new injection of enthusiasm. It appears they've been serving the same old food forever. There is no passion to this place. But having said that I need to complement them on assisting us... More

The food was just very plain and boring. Cafeteria quality. Service matched the food. The ambience was not great either (although from the outside it looked promising).

Simple, straightforward restaurant with good service, reasonable prices, and a full menu of Italian dinner options, including very good pasta and more substantial dinner entrees. I now know that if/when I return to Santa Monica, I can find a good, predictable dinner without searching.

Trastevere, looks better than it is by far, service was fine, courteous and efficient. The food was no better than average and typically oversized portions. Like many restaurants, I'd suggest trying quality over quantity. You might be surprised. There must be better options in the area with plenty of restaurants lining the streets around the 3rd Street Promenade .

Thank Gary H

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
