Although I have visited Sushi Roku before, a recent visit confirmed that this is one of my favorites in Santa Monica. On a recent trip to the LA area I was tired and ready for bed after a long travel day. However, I mustered the energy to go out and walked the three blocks from my hotel to Sushi Roku.... More

The location of Sushi Roku is ideal, but the food is average. There is nothing about the meal that stands out, and the service is no different than what you would expect to find in any small sushi restaurant on any average street in any average city. For the price, you are better off dining at Noma Sushi where the... More

Take a walk 1 block east to SugarFish on 2nd and Santa Monica and try some fairly good sushi. Best yet get, in your car and head east about 1.5 miles to Echigo...and enjoy real sushi and order Omakase.

We were in a hurry and wanted more time here. We sat at the bar and watched the chefs work; my wife who is fastidious and will only eat sushi she has seen prepared was happy and the food was excellent and if we were to visit again we'd make a point of going there again.

The food was good. But I have had the exact same sushi, same quality, etc for a fraction of the price.

We had just arrived from a rough AA flight from NY & checked into hotel. We walked along the beach & turned inland to find this delightful Asian restaurant. Terrific combinations of tastes, spices & textures. Will return when we are back on the west coast

We enjoyed the food so much that we ate here twice during our visit to CA. The patio was awesome for us...great people watching on the street as we enjoyed our sushi!

I loved their blue crab tartare, which comes with uni and caviar. Definitely one of the best meals I have ever had.

Recommended to us by the staff at the Loews, we had a nice meal here. Even though it was later on a Friday evening and felt a bit upscale, service was efficient and we felt comfortable dining with our child. Everything we tried from the extensive menu was solid, but the amberjack nigiri was particularly memorable and I would probably... More

Fine but nothing to rave about. My ramen had overly spicy broth and unpleasantly fatty pork, not in the unctuous delicious way it ought to be but in a bands of fat separating tough meat way. Edamame was brown and barely warm.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
