The name is now Malbec. Went here to celebrate my friend's anniversary. I had the Ushuaia salad and loved it. It has goat cheese and avocado and really loved how everything blended very well and tasted great. My husband had the churrasco and it was delicious. The meat was nice and tender, melts in your mouth with the just grilled... More

It's now called Malbec, not Ushuaia, but basically the same place with - according to the manager - the same owners. Probably the third time we've been there. Found it to be welcoming, comfortable - not too noisy (unless there is a large group, which could happen anywhere.) Had a lovely server who offered some good advice on the menu.... More

Awesome restaurant for Argentine style meat cuts, ambiance and Malbec. Super cool manager from Rosario, best entrana outside of Argentina and great provoleta. A must go for serious meat lovers. It was called Malbec on the front, not Ushuaia. Awesome place, meat, wines and people.

I had the 12oz hangar steak. It was soft and perfectly cooked and served with a delicious plate of grilled vegetables.

...in the south Atlantic, this thoroughly Argentinian restaurant was very welcoming to British visitors and it was wonderful to have a taste of a completely new cuisine - there don't seem to be many similar places in London for some reason. Also they served meats, which in ultra-trendy southern California in general and Santa Monica in particular is not so... More

I will always have it mind for a real important family celebration: goodbye prime rib wherever you are. My husband and I had the most memorable end of the year dinner. It is a little expensive for our pockets (not for the high quality of everything they serve), so we'll come back with family when possible. Giulia Gagliani Goldman (don't... More

Service was friendly but not so attentive that you felt hovered over. Ordered yellowtail ceviche to begin which was lightly flavored with a perky lime sauce and positively delightful, followed by the Churrasco Al Malbec which was perfectly cooked tender with a full spectrum flavor that only comes with the best cuts, covered with a Malbec wine & mushroom reduction.... This restaurant is quite a way from the main tourist areas and as a result is a lot quieter than some restaurants. I'm sure that's only down to the location though as the food is really good. I had a fantastic sirloin and my wife a fillet both were cooked well and as we requested. The accompanying sauces were lovely.... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
