Arriving in Santa Maria, we were ready for an early dinner. The Swiss Restaurant was recommended to us so that's where the four of us headed. It was a hit and miss dinner for us. The soup of the day was cheddar broccoli. The soup was lukewarm, not cheesy and did not taste fresh. On top of that it just... More

What you order is what you get PLUS more! The portions are HUGE that my wife and I had to ask for a to go box and we had not eaten all day!

In town on business and saw the rave reviews on both YELP & here... so decided that it was easily worth it. Sketchy parking area which shares it with a liquor store. Most of the parking is in back of the building so you need to walk thru the lot to get to the SIDE (main) door. Seated immediately on... More

The Swiss is every bit as good as Shaw's Steakhouse... For those of you who like a bigger ounce filet, this is the place to go. For me the only down side is that they only have the one size filet mignon, but I always take my leftovers home! I also really like their vinaigrette, very tasty. Another plus for... More

I don't know why this place has such great reviews, but it must be for something other than the ribs. The ribs were lacking in flavor, but decent with the bbq sauce. They only do serve the brisket as part of a sandwich. The meat itself was good, but the bread was overpowering with like a butter garlic spread. The... More

If I want steak, I want rib eye and the Swiss really knows how to prepare it. Between the oak pit bbq and their seasoning it's perfect every time. The only reason I didn't give them an excellent rating is because of their limited white wine list.

Let's start off with the best. Our server, Charlie, made our visit! She was professional, sweet and helpful. We loved our food! I had a "BBQ blue" which is a play on chicken cordon bleu, just wrap it in bacon. Wife had a perfectly cooked steak while the kids had some of the "best Mac n cheese"... quite a high... More

We shared a full rack of baby back ribs and had more than we could eat. It was delicious. Our friends shared prime rib and had left overs. Santa Maria style beans, salsa, grilled garlic bread was wonderful. This is a must stop or visit.

Enjoyed taking my coworkers for lunch here. Always the best meals.... Excellent service. The only place in town I'll ever eat a tri tip sandwich at!

While the atmosphere of The Swiss isn't much and the rest of the menu is just so-so, they served THE BEST steak I've ever had. It was tasty and juicy and cooked just right. We'll be back for steak.
