We went for an early dinner at Johnny's Harborside. We had a nice table with views of the harbor area. We enjoyed drinks. I had a cosmo and my husband had a glass of Cab Franc. For dinner, we shared an ahi poke appertizer which was very good. For dinner, I had mussels. My husband had a tasty sand dab... More

Lunch with the family and my only complaint is that this place is pricey. Fish tacos were tasty and big portions. Sand dab sandwiches were also good, but I have had better. Crab stuffed tempura avocado was ok. Little crab and big price. Beer, wine and drink list. Service was ok and the restaurant itself is tacky. View of the... More

Johnny's Harborside is the place to go for beautifully prepared fish. Try the seared Ahi. The sweet potato fries are excellent. Some of the sauces do not please my palate but they are very flex about preferences and substitutions. I recommend the Wasabi Aoli. The restaurant is on the second floor so you dine hovering over the harbor.

I was taken to Johnny's by a local. As with many great places I've found, there was nothing extravagant or pretentious about this place either outside or inside. But it was lively and people were waiting to get a table...a good sign that it's worth the wait. Everybody at the bar was sociable (as I found Santa Cruz to be... More

We stopped in Johnny's for a late lunch weekday. I got a halibut sandwich with fries and my friend got the fish tacos. First the portions are on the generous side. My sandwich was fresh and delicious. Fries were amazing. The fish was grilled with a good flavor. The fish taco dish was huge with three large flat tacos and... More

It was a Monday early lunch and there were lots of full tables. We had great service from Kristyn with our needy bunch of 9. The catch of the day salmon sandwich was so flavorful. I would pass on the cole slaw (blah) and choose the popular garlic fries. I really wanted the recipe for the tartar sauce--there was a... More

We come her a lot. We've always had great service and the food is always very good. I love their Salmon burger. The only one I've had that has some substance. My family loves their burgers and fries. All of the tables offer a great view of the harbor and it's a very sunny place. We like coming here as... More

Enjoyed a fresh seafood dinner of mahi-mahi along with tempura veggies & mashed potatoes. Excellent flavors, sauce was not too overpowering to mask the taste of the fish. My husband gave high reviews to his scallops dish. Nice harbor views of decked-out boats with holiday lights. Incredibly reasonable corkage fee & outstanding service from our very perky & friendly waitress.... More

While the Benedicts looked really good I was very disappointed with the Sand Dab sandwich. When I prepare sand dabs I saute them lightly in butter and use a light bread so as not to overwhelm the dabs. Here the dabs were fried hard and put on crunchy sourdough bread with guacamole sauce. The dabs tasted like cardboard. It was... More
