Great place in residential sort of neighborhood. Food was fabulous! Friend and I shared the Brussels sprouts and a burger. The taters with the burger were as fantastic as the rest — irresistible, and I dont go for fries. These were way better. Not inexpensive,...More

We were in Santa Barbara for one night only and sought out good, modern food. The food is amazing with a thoughtful menu of sophisticated, yet simple, food. Our waiter Eric was a great help in assisting us to choose dishes which showcased the menu...More

We've been to this lovely restaurant twice. We love their mission to offer a high-end, local, creative, yet relaxed dining experience. Please keep experimenting and surprising us. We hope others feel the same. Prices are very fair for what you get. Highly recommended.

I used to be a big fan of Barbareno. But then they sold it and a new chef took over. I have been there three times now, to check out what's happening. Unfortunately, things have been going downhill for the quality of the food at...More

The food at barbareno was exceptional. We ate here in September 2017 and loved it. Definitely worth going off the high street to eat here. Highly recommend the bao buns to start, the tri tip & ribs for main and the chocolate dessert is exceptional....More

We stumbled across this restaurant the other day and made a reservation for dinner. I was surprised to see that the restaurant was half empty when we got there. Normally this is not a very good sign but we decided to give it a try....More

Chris, our server, was very informative and helpful when we had questions about the food. Get the BBQ! Tasted great! And have the chocolate dessert. Awesome! Sat on the outdoor patio which was very pleasant. Definitely would go back! :)

It is not fancy and service is very friendly! But this is not all. At first you get a bit intimidated by some asian, mexican, and elsewhere spices in the menu but if you read carefully, they are sort of re-readings of traditional mixes. I...More

We went to Barbareno to check it out, now that they have a new chef. It used to be superb, so wanted to find out if it had changed. They still have BBQ - but only one style now. My partner had that and said...More

If by "BYO" you mean "bring your own" wine, then yes, in my experience they did with a corkage fee. I brought a bottle of one of my favorite pinots. I have no idea what the corkage fee was.
