In a very unassuming location in a strip mall on the Mesa, you'll find this wonderful tiny place with surprisingly excellent tapas. The service and wine list are very good too. Just go, you'll be impressed! We tried the Lamburginis, Brussels Sprouts with Bacon, Gambas Alcazar, and the Ahi Tartare and they were all delicious.

Always surprised when a great establishment doesnt rank higher. Alcazar is simply one of the best tapas places in Santa Barbara. It's small, but that makes for an intimate setting. interestingly decorated and tist of tapas more than adequate in its diversity & way mire than adequate in their quality & imaginative flavour combos. and the cocktail list is rife... Amazing drinks, atmosphere, and most especially... FOOD! We were luckily able to meet chef Al who was behind the bar last night and he treated us to one of the most decadent and intimate dining experiences ever. I highly recommend Date with a Pig, the Lamborghini Sliders, and the baked brie dish called Som"brie"sas. Spanish coffee for desert was on... More

I often meet friends here for a glass of wine of fancier drink and some appetizers. The wait staff is friendly, and the food is surprisingly innovative and good.

It's not very often one can find a "hip" restaurant in Santa Barbara, but Alcazar fits the mold. Located on the Mesa--which is on the other side of town from the Funk Zone--Alcazar is a small place in a storefront on Cliff Drive. Don't be fooled by the location. The food is excellent. The bar is small but serves many... More

My partner & I very much enjoyed our dinner here. We had 4 plates between us - a goats cheese, rocket & beetroot salad, chicken quesadillas, the sweet potato fries (I think everyone in the restaurant had a bowl of these) and the very yummy date with a pig (dates wrapped in smoked bacon with blue cheese & honey). Desserts... More

Al has done it again, another fanstic restaurant. Similar menu to Milk & Honey but different enough. The vibe is a little bit differnt and still welcoming. Great little hidden gem on the Mesa. It is nice that we have spots like this up here. The service is usually good and the food is always great!

I just love this place. Great, easy atmosphere. Reliably wonderful drinks and food. Laid back but attentive wait staff. So many good things on the menu. You MUST have the Lamborghini lamb sliders - bloody wonderful. Even the bowl of sweet potato fries is lovely. It's tapas, order lots and have fun!

Cooked with pesto and golden raisins. Lovely place away from downtown. Mesa landmark. Great bar tender (Keith) Maybe a little noisy on a Friday night but small and fun. Food is perfect tapas sides.

The small plates at Alcazar are excellent, so are the cocktails. The staff is friendly and you will not ruin yourself having a light dinner with friends. Good place for small to medium size parties. I have been there three times and my friends enjoyed it.
