Our family stayed in Santa Barbara last week for three days, and two of those days we dined at The Palace Grill! That's how good it is. For dinner the first night we tried the crayfish popcorn and two of us shared one of the sampler platters, which came with a chocolate souffle. I forgot to mention that they bring... More

I'm so happy you guys loved our food enough to come back for more, Dena! From your daughter's filet mignon to our red beans and rice, it's a real pleasure to hear everything was such a hit, and I'm so glad we could make you feel welcome both times, too. We'll be looking forward to seeing you guys again next... More

Haven't been here for more than 20 years. Still extraordinarily great service and wonderful ambiance, but the food was not as good as I remember. We shared the expensive (and it was!) sampler between the 3 of us and there was more than enough. I found the veggies tasteless and I am a veggie lover. We loved the salmon. I... More

I'm so glad we got to welcome you back after a 20-year hiatus, Jane! While it's wonderful to know our service is just as excellent as you remember, I'm sorry our food couldn't match that this time. Still, we're happy you guys all got plenty to eat with that sampler, and we hope we won't have to wait another 20... More

Simply wonderful creole food. It is tight, noisy, and most of the time, there is a long wait for a table... but it is worth the wait. It is a plus that it is very reasonably priced, especially for Santa Barbara. Weeknights they take reservations - make one. Friday & Saturday the only reservation time available is 5:30. If that... I'm so happy you've always been willing to endure that wait with us, Roy! We're proud to know our Cajun recipes are worth it, and I'm glad you've enjoyed everything enough to keep coming back for more. Sounds like you've found a plan that works when it comes to our reservations, and we'll look forward to making another for you... More

Upper end cost but worth it. Food and service was excellent and would recommend this to anyone if you like Cajun food. It had been awhile since I was in New Orleans so this was a blissful experience. I had the red fish that was flown in from New Orleans and it was excellent take small bites and let the... More

This place is consistently delicious, fun and the staff are very attentive. My favourites are the muffins, Louisiana bread pudding souffle with whisky cream sauce, and the excellent Palace Cajun Martini served in a mason jar! The atmosphere is a festive New Orleans cafe style with live music outside on warm busy nights and sometimes a magician inside to entertain.... More

You don't find many great Cajun restaurants outside of Louisiana, but The Palace Grill is one of them--in Santa Barbara of all places. The Palace is nearly always packed with a lively crowd. Instead of bread or rolls, you're given an assortment of little muffins, all of which are unusual and delicious. If you're lucky, you can have "imported" redfish... More

So glad to know we're one of your favorite California Cajun spots, Greg! Sounds like you were lucky enough to visit when we had the redfish special on, and I'm thrilled you enjoyed that as much as you did. As far as your server goes, I can't really fault her for wording that question the way she did, but I'll... More

This was a high quality lunch and fairly authentic to New Orleans food. The Seafood gumbo was excellent and the Organic Catfish was too! Reasonably priced.
