This restaurant has been established since 1983, and it is located one block away from State Street. It is located in a converted house, and there are three distinct areas- an indoor dining area, an outdoor patio and a bar. I had a very pleasant dinner- starting with the soup of the day, a lovely salmon chowder, followed by a... More

I have eaten here for many, many years. I love the ambiance and the fact that you can eat at their bar until late. Burger is honest; salads and fish dishes are good. Stay away from their pastas.

The outdoor patio was shaded and appealing, you were right in the heart of Santa Barbara and the kinetic ambiance was exciting yet relaxed. I ordered the open face sirloin sandwich with a yummy Greek salad. I will absolutely return again and again.

This is a great landmark in Santa Barbara. Best to eat outdoors if weather is good, this is a favorite of locals. Really solid food and dedicated staff, this is a friendly consistent restaurant. We go back regularly. Also, a great happy hour.

Another SB local favourite, Paradise café serves burgers and more that take you just a little closer to paradise for dinner. We sat outside and our friends seemed to know moat of the people there. Always a good sign. There was plenty on the menu but our friends ordered burgers so we did too. Thick, succulent beef patties with a... More

Paradise Cafe is one one of my favorite local restaurants for lunch! Love the outdoor patio area, the retro bar is cool as well. Great place for a casual lunch and a glass of wine. My favorite dish is the fish tacos, usually made with their wonderful oak grilled swordfish.

Ate he were because nothing else was open.. However the food we ordered looked and didn't taste good either. My bowl of chili had steak in it but the steak was too chewy and dry which made it harder to eat and enjoy. My husband got the mussel salad the only good thing was the grilled mussel. Would not return

Excellent diverse menu, oak charcoal broiled burgers to fresh fish tacos all served on a shady outdoor patio. One of my favorite places to consistently have a good experience in Santa Barbara. They also have a cool kind of retro bar to sidle up to if you want a different experience.

Varied menu - lots to choose from. Fresh, local cuisine. Great spot for a casual, yet upscale dinner. Excellent service. Parking garage nearby.

The buerre blanc mussels were great. We saved the jus for bread. The grilled mussels also great. Savory seasoning complements the natural sweetness of the mussels. The cioppino is tasted like the un-defrosted minuscule shrimp boiled in pulverized canned tomatoes. It was such a disappointment. The service was fine. It was a Saturday night at 8:30 and there were plenty... More

Description
Located in a 1915 vintage brick and stucco building that once housed an Italian bakery, and La Paloma Cafe, this landmark building has been the home of Paradise Cafe since 1981. Customers can enjoy Paradise Cafe on the heated patio, in the dining room, or the art deco-inspired bar. The Paradise Cafe has the first and only grill to use Santa Maria live oak wood in the city of Santa Barbara. We specialize in prime steaks, fresh fish, and of course, our famous Paradise Burger broiled over the first and only live oak wood grill in Santa Barbara. Combine that with our fabulous vegetarian entrees, pastas, soups, salads, and our Decadent Paradise Pie, and we have something for every palate!
