This place is in the middle of nowhere but is so worth the trip. The place is adorable! There is a bar and a restaurant. The bar had live music and is pretty small but has tables outside. If you want to eat they sell awesome tri tip sandwiches. I would make reservations for the restaurant because they full up... More

We stopped for lunch and it was very good. I had the quiche and my husband opted for beef. Both were very good and after the meal, we took a few minutes to walk around the grounds.

After a day of wine tasting, this dark, vintage restaurant is a good place for dinner--if you arent a particular eater. Lots of people stop for food & drinks. But the food isn't interesting, and we were delivered medium well done instead of medium rare steaks. We complained and the food was removed. What came back was: one steak only... More

My wife and I went to Cold Spring Tavern for dinner while spending some time in California. We loved it. We started the night out listening to music at the tavern and ended the night having a great dinner at the restaurant. Awesome atmosphere for a restaurant with a lot of history.

Cold Spring Tavern is a 20 minute drive outside of town on one of the most spectacular drives you can do in this unbelievably scenic county. But it's a million miles away from the glitz of Santa Barbara, and its setting is much more akin to Ol' Texas. A historic 1870s old stage coach stop on the way over the... More

It is located in the mountains above Santa Barbara on a narrow road with very limited parking. You are parking along the edge of the road and walking in the road to get to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is rather small and there is a separate bar and an outside grill area where they sell Tri Tip sandwiches. The... More

Nestled up in the mountain pass is an old stagecoach stop converted into a restaurant. If you have half a day and a car you should probably check this place out. We found it pretty romantic.

We were looking for something different for my husband's birthday lunch and we were very pleased with everything about Cold Spring Tavern. Service was very casual and friendly, but at no time did we feel ignored. Three people working on a busy Wednesday and each one checked with us throughout our meal to make sure that we did not need... More

This place is so cool. Its an OLD Western saloon tucked into the mountainside that was built in the 1860's. The decor is fun and funky with old antiques and creeky floors. Did I mention the food? Its REALLY good. Looking for good home cooking or BBQ this is it. They also have a Tri-Tip Barbeques on Sat & Sun... More

Definitely stop at this historic location off highway 154 just north of Santa Barbara for some amazing smoked tri-tip and wild game chili. Waits can be long especially around noon and the service and execution can be less than ideal but the food rocks.
