You start asking yourself that question because Le Petit is so authentic you start to feel like you actually are in France. From the Aperitif to the desert you can make like Gil in Midnight in Paris swooning over all thing French. The only thing not so french about it is the price. Unlike France or things french this place... More

We had dinner in this lovely restaurant because a friend of mine suggested it... thank goodness for friends with good taste in food!! I ate a pan seared duck breast that was out of this world, and the desserts spoke to my soul! They even projected a french cartoon during dinner, i think it was the illusionist or something like... A charming, affordable lunch spot tucked into a cozy little alley just a stone's throw off busy State Street, Le Petit Valentien offers a nice menu of classic French items at VERY good prices! On offer are classics such as crab cakes (served on a bed of spinach with Hollandaise sauce), crêpes, escargots, a nice filet of sole, gazpacho and... More

My mother and I went to La Petit Valentin for lunch recently and we were amazed at the quality of the food. We would have expected to pay much more for the house made chef's creations, but the lunch main courses were only $10 each. The interior is so comfortable and charming we ended up staying an extra long time... More

Ate dinner here recently. The restaurant has a nice ambience about it and the menu made a change from the many fast food options available in California. The goats cheese & beetroot starter was good as was the fish cake starter. The venison main course was also good. House wine was also acceptable.

I walked in, a single diner, just after opening time on a week night and was was warmly greeted by not one but two kind and knowledgeable young women who were obviously schooled in the gracious ways of 'old school' French dining. The room is like a jewel box, so warm and inviting with wooden tables, banquettes, all the touches... More

Having been here once before, I was looking forward to a second visit. Sat outside under awning with perfect temperature. Tomato bisque soup was good, not great, but good. House salad and Caesar salad ok. Duck breast was exceptional. Yellowtail with mussels - out of tuna and subed with petrole sole in a saffron broth. Sole a little disappointing. Pork... More

There were four of us, we all enjoyed our meals though my husband's steak was a bit on the tough side. The service was excellent, we had a very good bottle of wine. The menu had lots of good-sounding chioces.

Having visited Santa Barbara for a few days, I've eaten in various restaurants, some good, some not. So I'm going to write a review that I wish I could've read before deciding which ones of the many choices to try. Wanting a good French bistro, I opted for Petit Valentein over Bouchon, mainly because a friend had eaten there in... More
