We had to be quick because our show was starting shortly. They accommodated us with seating is quick and taking our order immediately. The food was delicious! I would definitely go back!

Try the chicken torta for an amazing combination of flavors. Everyone left satisfied and happy with their meal. Excellent guacamole. Excellent beans. Like all great restaurants, they pay attention to the side dishes and smaller plates, as well as the entrees. 5/5 stars was the...consensus of the family. Worth going out of your way!More
I visited this restaurant a couple of years ago and it was ok. so I've decided to go again with a few friends. Unfortunately, the experience was not very pleasant :( To begin with the waiter look and behave as he was mad, despite my...effort to make him chilled. The food was really average and pricy. The drinks ( my margarita) was water down. My son ordered some chicken wrap and they barely had any chicken in there mostly lettuce. They took awhile to bring the food. The decoration looks very nice but they must work the points mentioned above to have me come back again.More
We were warmly greeted and seated right away. The menu is small but very creative. Food was served promptly and was excellent. My wife especially liked the jalapeño margarita. I had the chicken wrap and it was tasty and I was quite full when I...was done.More
This was my first time at Mezcal and I was excited to try it. Unfortunately it fell short of my expectations. We started with margaritas on the rocks and a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer. The margarita tasted good. Unfortunately about 75% of it was...ice. It was a glass of ice disguised as a margarita. The quesadilla was the best part of our meal. It was very flavorful with a lot of chicken, cheese and veggies. For entrees, I had mole negro and my husband had carnitas tacos. The mole sauce was delicious. Unfortunately, the portion was small, a small drumstick with part of a thigh. If we hadn't had the quesadilla, I would have been hungry after my entree. The tortillas that came with the mole were homemade and great. My husband said he was ambivalent about his tacos. The carnitas lacked flavor and the portion was small.More
Love that they have vegan friendly options! Great service and accommodating staff. This is a must visit place
Fantastic atmosphere and super server for our group of 12 on a Saturday night. Menu quite heavy on mole if you are a fan which I am not. The homemade guacamole was wonderful as was the layered strawberry cake for dessert. Light pour on the...margarita but good. Not in love with my entree but I believe it was prepared properly, just not crazy about the giant tortilla flavor. Would go back for sure.More
Very good Oaxacan food in downtown SJ. Excellent mezcalarita and the enchiladas suizas were very tasty! Reasonably priced for quality of food. Recommend highly!
My friend and I visited Mezcal on a Saturday night. It was busy and we sat at one of the last available tables (metal with gorgeous colored tiles) on the sidewalk without a reservation. Since seating is now limited per the pandemic, I recommend making...a reservation. The Perfect Margarita was ... perfect! We ordered more than one each. Pitchers are available, which in hindsight, we should have ordered. I ordered the flautas. They were stuffed with a generous portion of juicy all white meat rotisserie chicken and served atop a bed of perfectly cooked white rice. The cream sauce and guacamole were delicious. Finally, the accompanying broccoli-mango slaw was super fresh and very tasty. Our server, Francisco, was friendly, attentive, and very knowledge about the food and drinks. We will be back!More
On a long layover in SJC, so decided to wander into the city to see what we could find. Indoor dining?! Yes!! Social distancing?! Yes!! Jalepeno margaritas started us off, then snarfed a couple of complimentary bowls of chips and salsa. He ordered a wrap...that he devoured, that came with a side of pickled veggies and I inhaled the Enchilada Suiza, that were loaded with cheese and more cheese on top. Black beans on the side along with white rice (maaaybe another margarita, but who's counting?!) Come one, come all... you won't be disappointed!More
Fantastic food and service! The chicken and mole, enchiladas and fresh guacamole were very delicious. Must try!
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting downtown San Jose. The service was absolutely excellent and the margaritas were flavorful and well-made. I cannot rave enough about the mole that is made in this restaurant.
It's a lovely room, with traditional Oaxacan tin light fixtures that are beautiful and an additional outdoor seating area as well. The Oaxacan style of food was excellent -- whereas Mexican food usually features filled rolled enchiladas, Oaxacan dishes are open-faced. Delightful flavors -- I...had enchiladas suizas (green sauce) with chorizo that were delicious. My wife enjoyed pork enchiladas, sautéed corn tortillas with red Oaxacan mole, cheese and onions. We had the guacamole appetizer that was made table-side. A good downtown location, excellent service. Go there!More
Friendly staff, prices are fair, would go there again. Although location being well crowded during we received a seat fast and food and drink was delivered fast as well
I went out with a friend on a Saturday night at around 8pm. My friend ordered the carne asada tacos which came with black beans. I had the quesadilla appetizer and we split a Caesar salad. Everything was prepared well, tasted fresh and had good...sized portions. The pricing was reasonable. They were attentive to filling my coffee and we had a large glass bottle at our table for water refills. The menu is a bit limited with several mole dishes but there are enough options to please most people. We liked the at atmosphere but some of the customers were incredibly loud and the live music next to the dining room made it hard to have a conversation.More
