In town and of course we had to order a burnt almond cake. This has been a family favorite for years. Freindly staff and a good selection of other goodies. A must have every visit to the Bay area

Forget about this burnt almond cake everyone's ranting about, get their awesome orange rings! I pick up a few every time I'm in town. I grew up half a mile from this place, and other than a digital cash register, a web site and some of the employees, this place hasn't changed in 50 years.

Dicks or Peters? Dicks or Peters? That's the age old question in San Jose. I prefer Dicks because of the slightly grilled topping with a little more sugar flavoring than Peters. Either one is better than anywhere else in the world, but I give my thumbs up for Dicks. Yes, they make other things, but why would you buy them... More

No other reason to go for but the burnt almond cake! It's outstanding! Not sure I'd make a special trip to go here for any other items as they are good but nothing quite like the burnt almond cake. Parking lot can get a little crazy so I park away from the storefront (but still in the parking lot) and... More

There is no wonder why this place is still in business after 68 years - you walk in and EVERYTHING LOOKS MOUTH WATERING. They are known for their burnt almond cake and after you try it you will understand why. This place has a following. This was my first time to visit as I do not live close to Dicks... More

The chocolate chewy cookies are amazing! I've also had the burnt almond cake and the pineapple upside down cake. They're known for their burnt almond cake, it is delicious. This is the only bakery in the area that makes pineapple upside cake, my husband's favorite.

I have gotten this cake for my birthday since 1982 and it is consistently the best. Old school good service and excellence- it's hard to keep that up for over 30 years. Thank you!
