My first time here . My boyfriend brought me for dinner here and as we walked in it looked authentic , full of character and smelt amazing . We sat down and got our food and honestly it was hands down the best Mexican food I've had . The Portland are amazing and you won't leave hungry . Great food... More

Very traditional and lovely interior - prompt service. Portions are quite large, and usually require a box to go. Chips and salsa are provided and a very large menu.

El Novillero is a great place to eat. You will not leave there hungry! The food is good. The service is great. The portions are rather large. If you have a small appetite, you can save the left-overs for the next day.

Saturday linner (not misspelled ) at 2:00 PM, had two burritos, took 1/2 burrito home, left so full that did not eat leftover until Sunday morning, as usual great food, and great service. I will always go back for more great food.

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I’ve been going here for years, and the place never seems to disappoint. The décor and feel of the place is top of the line. You feel like you’re in a legit Mexican village. The interior is decorated like an outdoor courtyard, so you really get the sense you... More

I have been going here off and on since it was a hole in the wall move than 30 years ago. While the building has been expanded, the food has, for the most part, stayed the same. Even some of the staff are still around from the old days. We like the salsa but the chips can sometimes be a... More

I have been eating here since it opened back in the 70's. The Davalos family (the owners) have come a long way to present. The food has always been wonderful and consistent. I cannot recall ever having a meal that I didn't enjoy. We are on our fifth generation dinning here. My nephew and niece (live in Ohio) love having... More

I have been enjoying the food at the Novillero for over 30yrs now. It's still owned and operated by the Davalos Family. The quality of the food and service has not changed since my first experience. You won't leave hungry. If I'm in the area, I'm eating here and taking some home.

My brother visited on a business trip. And he suggested it. So how did I not know about this. I've lived in Northern CA for 20 years. They actually use Lard. That pleases me to no end. Refried beans are fabulous, cheese enchilada was great, tasted just the same reheated the next day. Portions are huge, prices reasonable. Biggest Flauta... More

Maybe it's the large portions??? We waited 45 minutes to eat here and it definitely wasn't worth it. This is probably great Mexican food for the style it is, but it's not what my husband and I prefer (and the husband is Mexican). This food is very heavy, lots of red sauce (saw only one thing with green sauce on... More
