I have eaten here every time I come to Sacramento. The margaritas are good and two of them will have you buzzing! There Ceviche wasn't to bad and their Carnitas were tender and good and so was their Carne Asada. The chicken enchiladas Suizas is pretty good too. There aren't a lot of Mexican restaurants to pick from in the... More

I was pretty unimpressed with the chips, salsa, and bean dip. None were bad, they were all just 'meh.' Thankfully my fish tacos were outstanding. They were in no way 'authentic' (which a fish taco never is anyway) but they were excellent. I would happily devour more. Other dishes at our table were good, drinks were fine, service was fine.... I ate here solo during a business trip and enjoyed my dinner. The enchilada was yummy and the sides were good. I wasn't a huge fan of the carnitas (a little too big of chunks of meat, I think, not quite what I'm used to). The service was speedy and pleasant, and the outdoor seating was comfortable and good for... More

My adult kids like to eat here. I don't tolerate the mid-town crowds very well, but I went to Ernesto's to please my daughter. The food is good, portions are of reasonable size, and service is mature and professional (not the staff training program that seems to be going on at some restaurants.) The place is too crowded for relaxation,... More

Had dinner here on a Wednesday night while in town for work and was thoroughly impressed. Started out with a house margarita and found it to be strong and tasted great. Ordered the triple steak dish for dinner and it was awesome! The steak was grilled with some nice seasonings that just made it taste incredible. The chips and salsa... More

There food is SO good and hot off the grill. They make excellent chimichangas, enchiladas, etc.....They can get very busy on weekend nights, but it's worth the wait. They do take out as well, so that can help with the lines. Parking is on the street, so plan ahead and come together. Can't wait to go again!!

Nice outside city seating. I expected great Mexican food. But I should have know when I tasted the salsa. The bean dip not bad. Prices average for an upper end Mexican restaurant. I was not empress with food. Slow also.

Ernesto's is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Sacramento. The food and service are consistently good. My favorites are carnitas and chile rellenos. They also make great cocktails. The atmosphere is upbeat and fun whether you come for dinner or Sunday brunch.

We have been coming here for over 20 years. The carnitas nachos are wonderful. Much larger than an appetizer. Try it , you'll love it.

Some of Sacramento's best Tex-Mex style Mexican food. Inside dining can get painfully loud at times, especially if the band stops by. Outside dining is interesting. A low iron fence separates diners from the colorful mid-town passers by. The last time I ate there we sat next to a whole table full of middle aged men doing their best to... More
