Fosters Bighorn Restaurant in Rio vista is a one of a kind stop that won't disappoint. The owner is one of the most friendly people I have ever met and he has done a great job of updating the restaurant and the service, menu and food quality are exceptional.

I grew up in Stockton hunted and fished in the Rio Vista area. Always wanted to eat here but just never worked out. Today we got the chance after visiting the Western Railway Museum and taking a train ride through the wildflowers. I enjoyed the Fish & Chips along with a ice cold Sierra Nevada Beer. Excellently prepared, nice and... More

Beautiful old building. Had stained glass history of California including gold rush, Chinese building railroad and much more. Comfortable decor and excellent wait staff. Very laid back. We had the steak sandwich. Cooked just like we ordered and the fries were delicious. Building converted to restaurant fairly recently. Only one con is that there are quite a few steep stairs... The french fries here are phenomenal. My kids enjoyed the history of all the trophies and couldn't stop looking at them all. It really is impressive. i like the laid back feel of the place and the service was amazing. We had a very large group of 9 kids and 3 adults and everyone LOVED their food.

This service here was very friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. It is a real neat place to go to in this area with all the different wildlife on the walls. The streak was cooked to perfection and had good flavor. If I am in the area again I will definitely come back without hesitation .

Did not eat, but had drinks at the bar and took pictures of the decor. There are 100s of animals I have never seen before. I walked around with my mouth hanging open. This is a saloon not to miss- just amazing: elephants, zebras, hippos, peccary, gnu, lions, mountain cat, deer, timber wolf, etc all stuffed and covering the walls.

Stop by for drinks with friends after boating and fishing, great place to feel the delta vibe, The bartender served our drinks promptly and chatted with us about the local fishing holes.

We came to Rio Vista just to see the place. The downtown is nice: it's clean, old western, located just on gorgeous Sacramento river. We came to Foster's Bighorn restaurant because we red some historical paperl. We came in and we stay astonishing looking around. All walls in this pretty big three rooms place are covered with taxiderms. There are... More
