I don't normally hail hotel restaurants as places to go. I'm really happy here. The value. The service. The food. All really good. Not to spoil a hidden gem, but would hate the to lose one.

We attended a reunion weekend and stayed at the Redwood City Sofitel, eating most meals in the restaurant beside the lounge. We found the food tasty and well-prepared. We particularly appreciated the availability of gluten free options, as we are both gluten free. We ordered a number of egg dishes, not only at breakfast, but one for an evening light... More
Bay 223 is a French inspired Califirnia cuisine overlooking Redwood Shores Lagoon. We had dinner on a relaxing Sunday night. I was especially impressed with the presentation of the food, served on wonderful plates and interesting sauce cups. We began by choosing a selection of bread with butter and an amazing pesto spread. We than had the tuna tartare appetizer.... More
Arrived at the Sofitel Hotel after a long day of travel from the East Coast. Just downstairs, Bay 223 was like a welcomed oasis. We enjoyed a lovely roasted beet and goat cheese salad, and two entrees- sole and salmon- both expertly prepared. The ambiance is calming and serene. A full menu is available at the bar. Try the wine... More

I had an omelette or scrambled eggs for breakfast each day because they were simply the lightest fluffiest I had every enjoyed. GF pasta with grilled chicken for dinner along with a filling salad for lunch.
It was convenient, it was beautiful, but it didn't rock my world when I ate there. Maybe I'm spoiled from living in a resort community with very high quality cuisine, but I expected more value for the cost. Service was great.
Very good restaurant w.r.t. meals and wine selection. Service crew is friendly and effective. Felt very welcomed and enjoyed the evening. Our special thanks to Kenny !
I had dinner and 2 breakfasts at the Bar 223. Service was consistently good - friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The food was good and there was good choice on the menu. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and isn't intimidating if you are in your own. Very good for a hotel restaurant with extra effort to make people feel comfortable.
