We ordered a variety of enchiladas and burritos and all were wonderful. Everyone was pleased and portions large so a couple folks took rest of their dinner home. Our server was very attentive. Will definitely go back.

Was here with Mom and sister. I had the chicken enchilada suiza. It was so delicious! The flavor was amazing! The chips beforehand were so fresh...I loved it.

While visiting the Pasadena area for business, we ate at El Cholo Cafe for lunch. The buffet was very reasonable and offered salmon, rice, beans, fruit, veggies, pork, tortillas, cheese enchiladas and more...plus a soda. We enjoyed the meal and would come back again. Enjoy!

El Cholo has quite a history in LA. I went to USC as a graduate student and I think the first opened nearby. They have since opened lots, but they are always delightful. Mexican food in LA is extraordinary, so whenever I get back there, I try to eat at El Cholo. Enjoy!

Food is good, portions are big. Service was efficient enough. Good for groups, large tables. But it was super cold---way to much air conditioning. Bring a sweater or jacket

El Chola used to be THE place to go in Los Angeles for authentic Mexican food. I am sorry to report that last night's dinner at the El Cholo Cafe in Pasadena was way off the mark. First, the margaritas were no more than a glass filled with packaged Margarita mix and ice in a salt rimmed glass. We complained... More

I have been dining at El Cholo in downtown Los Angels for several years, first time at the venue. A buffet was offered and we decided to choose that, (2 of us), however, all the containers were pretty empty. We sat down and waited for our handmade quacamole, that was perfect. After about 20 minutes went to the buffet, still... More

We were referred here by our hotel and am definitely glad they told us about it! Amazing authentic Mexican food with great atmosphere! I crave the food just thinking about it. Great service!

It's a nice atmosphere, and the service was really good. But the food is what's best. I got the cochinita pibil and have only had this dish in Mexico which was excellent, so I had high expectations. It was as good if not better than any I've had in Mexico. My wife got the chimichangas and we both agreed they... More

This place has a great atmosphere, wonderful "Happy Hour" and the best Guacamole ever, made fresh at your table. A very extensive menu with special choices.

El Cholo Pasadena opened its doors to the public in October 2000 on Fair Oaks Ave. We moved to the Paseo Mall in December 2010 on Colorado Blvd. keeping the 88 year old legend going strong. All of the El Cholo restaurants feature authentic and traditional Mexican dishes, many of which have come from family recipes dating back to 1923. Our distinctive menu offers classics such as our famous Green Corn Tamales, Enchiladas, and sizzling Fajitas. Our Combination plates along with our newer comidas especiales have made El Cholo famous along with our irresistible Nachos introduced in the 1950's. But there is one thing that El Cholo is especially known for and that is our Award-Winning Margarita.
The decor of El Cholo Pasadena radiates warmth and relaxation. The Hacienda style architecture is accented with hand-painted arches, rustic ceiling timbers and traditional Mexican murals.
Amenities include two full service bars, three outdoor patios, and a private banquet room.
