Huge proportions abound in this "rat pack era" inspired restaurant. High back booths, dim lighting, mid century decor set the mood while you enjoy a delicious meal at this great restaurant.

After a very long day and meeting, three friends of mine wanted to meet for a drink and dinner. We dine out at least 8-10 X a week. When we gathered in the parking lot to decide where we would go...we each looked at each other and said "TROPICALE". When we arrived we asked for a booth and asked for... More

When you walk up to the door of the Tropical, you might assume that it's an old Palm Springs haunt. The font/logo look very Mid-Century Modern, even though the building itself looks rather new. Plus, although the restaurant is not located right ON either Palm Canyon Drive or Indian Canyon Drive (which demarcate the downtown eating and shopping core of... More

We had a great evening on the terrace with the heaters. My brisket burger was good but the bun was just soaking when I picked it up, which made it hard to eat (I would have given the restaurant the highest rating). However, our meals were excellent as was the service.

One of our favorite places in Palm Springs! We dined outside on a chilly night but the strategically placed heaters kept us toasty. The service is always exceptional! We started with Martinis, Lemondrops and wine, mixed to perfection. We had the Goat cheese salads, Firecracker shrimp, and several pizzas. All was prepared well and tasted great. The prices were reasonable,... More

We came to Palm Springs with another couple who had been on Thanksgiving weekend about 2 years ago. They remember going to Tropicale and how good it was. AMBIANCE: The decor and Vibe of the restaurant was very fun! The hostesses were very lively and friendly. The restro was also very welcoming. We sat outside on the patio. They had... More

I can only describe the food here as "soul goodness" it is basic but done with an extra layer of flavor and flair. The buttermilk fried chicken would impress grandma; the mashed potatoes flavorful with a delightful addition of fresh corn, greens don't disappoint and the fresh homemade focaccia bread leaves you wanting more to take home and enjoy! The... More

What a nice place this is! The decor is retro-fifties, comfort and elegance all in one. Service is top of the line. Their menu is extensive, great cocktails and wines. Don't try to drop-in without a reservation as this place is very popular. We made our reservation early 5:30 PM and almost every table was occupied; by the time we... More

We sat outside and the atmosphere with the lights and the music is really enjoyable. The food was very good - some twists on the classics - great selection of tasty appetizers and excellent cocktails. Overall a very relaxing, enjoyable evening.
