About
Established in the heart of Palm Springs since 1973, Le Vallauris located at the foot of San Jacinto Mountains has been the highest rated restaurant in the Palm Springs Valley since its inception. Owned and operated by the well known restaurateur Paul Bruggemans who was also owner of the Famous Le St Germain restaurant in Hollywood. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 and was owned by the owners of the famous Desert Inn which was The hotel in the Valley. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. It was a favorite place for General Patton when he was based in Palm Springs to stage the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite. The renowned Patio lined with Giant Fichus trees is THE place to dine. The Patio is cooled in the Summer and heated in the Winter.

A terrific meal, especially with a large group. Our group of over 25 people was well served by seasoned professional wait staff. Everyone's dishes were perfectly served and presented. I can say that the escargots appetizer, lamb filet main and dessert soufflet were all wonderful. Not a fan of being taken advantage of though - their wine list is unreasonable, being overpriced (a less than $20 bottle was $60 or more). Go there for the food, not the wine!

Have attended the excellent monthly cooking demonstrations followed by lunch but this was our first time for dinner. There were 6 in our party, 4 selected the prix fixe menu, the other two selected fresh oysters, rack of lamb and soufflé for dessert. It’s impossible to fault anything about this restaurant. The food - all of it - is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! The service is outstanding, the menu and wine selections are first class. The best fine dining to be had in Palm Springs. The owner dropping by every table to chat with his guests is another exceptional touch. Worth every penny. Highly recommend!

The food, ambience and staff are amazing. For 40+ years, this place maintains the highest standards and makes every meal there a special event. One person stands out in particular, and that is Bruce the sommelier. Not only can Bruce quickly figure out what you would like based on even the most cryptic descriptions, he is also respectful of price point. I’ve never had a bad recommendation from Bruce. His wine pairings coupled with excellent wait staff (shout out to Steve) makes every meal there amazing for us and our family. Thank you for being an institution of the desert! Order a la carte every time!

LV is one of our favorite restaurants, and we are so happy they have reopened this year after being closed due to the pandemic. The restaurant has returned, offering the most special and amazing dining experience for you and your guests. We were also relieved to see Bruce, one of the best sommeliers ever. The food is amazing, the wait staff incredible, but Bruce ensures that you and your guests have the ultimate wine experience at the price point you desire. Plus, he's very charming! You should attend for the atmosphere and one of the true dining experiences where they ensure your night is extremely special.

After doing our research, reading some of the reviews, I must say that I expected way more from Le Vallauris, but was a little disappointed. The food was just good, but not spectacular and in particular the desserts were very disappointing. They have a nice wine list, sure, but you also need good food to accompany it, and it just was not up to our standards, especially for the price!
The service was....great on the surface, but once you scratch the surface it failed. If you just sat down, ordered your food, paid and left you might have received good service, but if you made a slight request , asked a question maybe slightly out of the ordinary or anything like that , then you were met with eye-rolls, huffs and puffs and attitude, and that should NOT happen to a restaurant of this caliber. You need to step up your game Le Vallauris

I moved to Palm Springs 8 years ago, after living in southern France for the prior 10 years. From my arrival to the present, this has been my favorite restaurant. The garden is gorgeous and so much like wonderful restaurants in France. I'm immediately transported!
The menu is also first rate, and the meals are excellent. If you go for lunch Sunday be prepared for the brunch prix fixe menu, not a regular lunch menu.
My only criticism is that the wine prices have become VERY high. I now stick to one glass...

Dined here on our anniversary. Lovely setting outside under beautiful lit trees. Heat lamps if necessary. We chose one of the two prix fixe menus-$68 or $95. Many small courses, very memorable was a delicious small quail, a Calvados sorbet palate cleanser , our main course- a veal filet with a delicious brown veal sauce. We were even given a small glass of extra sauce on the side. Delicious pommes souffles and at the end their famous Grand Mariner soufflé. Perfect service. The owner stopped to check on our meal, very gracious and interesting to talk with.
Definitely will return.

We arrived 7pm and were seated accordingly. We were asked if we would like a drink. I said lemon drop for my wife and water for me but I will have wine with my entree. I wsa asked "would you like the wine now": No because I have not seen the menu. We both ordered blue crab with mango and avacado. 2 minutes later a waiter brought soup?? Which we said we did not order. So 10 minutes later we has our appetizer which was very good. The waiter removed to plates and we expected the wine list!! No they brought the entrees. I was have chillean sea bass and my wife beef cheeks, I said where is the wine list? The waiter returned and before I openned it said "I recommend sancerre; it is like a Cab" I was schocked because I have been to Univeristy to study wine and go to Napa frequently. He obviously made a slip. I have been here several times and seen the waiter. The entree was very good except the sauce for the fish was too strong; however it was good with a small amount. The witer was arrogant and I felt he was contemptuous. It is French style food but far inferior to La Folie in San Francisco where we were 2 weeks ago. Probably close to Cuistot also in Palm Springs. We talked to Paul Bruggemans the owner as usual about Picasso and and Zurich. I did not mention the service; however we will NOT go back. Very good atmosphere, food and disgusting service. It implies fine dining but compared to San Francisco it is mediocre. We did not stay for dessert. Potentially a good evening spoiled by an arrogant waiter.

We are not easily impressed and have dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world. Often too-rated restaurants fail to live up to expectations. In this case Le Vallauris surpassed the high rating and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is unique and beautiful. Service was superb. But the food.....oh, the food....was spectacular , every bite of every course.

Where to begin? We had such a lovely dinner at Le Vaullauris recently. Excellent food including a roast duck main course, served with a red wine cherry sauce, rack of lamb, a smoke salmon appetizer, and decadently delicious desserts of Grand Marnier souffle and a tart tatin with vanilla ice cream.
Wine list is full of very expensive choices but you can do well at the bottom end of the list too. We drank a perfectly delightful 2016 Frank Family Zinfandel, priced at $75.
Service was professional but not stiff. Everyone we dealt with strove to make us feel at home. The decor and atmosphere of the terrace are terrific.

I went there for food because well, I am a foodie. Yes, the food rivaled those with Michelin stars. What will last in my mind began the second I arrived. I was welcomed like a VIP. Walked into a garden courtyard. Seated in a linen covered table below towering trees. The daily special board was placed in front of me along with a Keenan Chardonnay. Okay, this is going well. Vichyssoise and Boston Scallops inspired my sense of texture and taste. They did not disappoint. Spectacular in taste and presentation! I selected a by the glass Graves Bordeaux. How can a wine this damn good be available by the glass? Yet, it was splendid. Service was over the top. Experience? I will never forget this dining event. Life is good...

This restaurant has a lovely patio for outside dining. Waiters are in white tuxedo jackets. Very formal but not stuffy.
The food is excellent. Menu is written on a white board , which the waiter brings to your table.
My blue crab avocado mango appetizer was delicious. My lobster dinner consists of a whole lobster, skillfully prepared and presented beautifully. My husband had Dover Sole and he said it was good though not as good as my lobster.
Their Grand Marnier soufflé was very light and airy.

The service was poor.
The arrogant Sommelier said he liked everything on the wine list or he would not have put it there. The wines were much too expensive...the corkage was even $45
The food was good . They have a service problem. The Grand Marnier Souffle was thrown at us. We had to request to have it served. Too bad because the chef is quite good. We would not return.

Best fine dining experience in Palm Springs. Romantic, outdoor dining area is set up in a gazebo—like style surrounded by a ficus hedge, soft lights suspended by the taller trees, and lots of candlelight.. Service was very pleasant and staff were very knowledgeable. Very good selection of cocktails, champagnes and wines. Paperless menu was artfully displayed on easels (no need to bring out your reading glasses). The fresh quality of the food and ingredients is very noteworthy. This is one of the best meals I’ve ever had.

Our experience at Le Vallauris-
Christmas evening we had 8:15 reservations for four people. We arrived a bit early so after checking in with the host, we sat down in the bar at the cozy bench seat. We were faced directly in front of the bar and to the right of the talent that evening. The restaurant was is full swing but all things were in control. The host, shall I refer to them, although I do believe they are the owners, were greeting guests and showing them to their tablets. After about 12 minutes the women(owner) came up to us and asked if we were waiting for another couple to which we replied yes and she left. I found that quite interesting as we had already checked in when we arrived so I would think she would already know the answer to that question. Can you believe in all that time and with several opportunities NO ONE, not even the bartenders, which there were two and who faced us the entire time, offered us a beverage?? I honestly thought the women was going to ask us since she engaged us in a conversation but much to my chagrin, she didn’t. What a missed and unfortunate situation. Here we are guests in your house and being dismissed and ignored like that??? It’s unthinkable to me as a former server in a James Beard establishment. Still three weeks after I’m dumbfounded. In addition the food was mediocre. If I have to ask for Sel Gris, Fleur de Sel or any type of salt when dining out it’s ridiculous. Properly seasoned food requires no additional salt. I sent this to the general manager and her reply was that she was sorry things went unnoticed- PATHETIC. Spend your money elsewhere.
