1501 Gastropub is Fabulous and Willie Rhine is the most gracious restauranteur I have ever met. 1501 exceeds expectations in every way. The atmosphere and vibe are truly cosmopolitan, from the moment I walked in, I fell in love with the Gastro Pub. The staff is incredible, so well trained that you feel like every one of them is proud to be there and glad you came. Impeccable! The hostess was sincerely welcoming, professional, and caring, the busser Alma introduced herself and said welcome, the server Zoee knew the menu inside and out made recommendations that were intuitive and she was smart, professional, and attentive. Your manager passed by twice and worked the room touching every table at least twice and exuded warmth, grace, and aplomb.
The charcuterie was inspired, with delicate fragrant meats and the perfect selection of cheeses, candied and roasted nuts. We both had the short ribs and they were mouthwatering, tender, succulent, and aromatic. The rich luscious layers of supple potatoes and crisp root vegetables were the perfect complements to this dish, a happy marriage of textures and distinct flavors.
The atmosphere at 1501 is hip, stylish and adds a whole new dimension of comfortable chic urban dining to Palm Springs. Truly world-class and a jewel in the crown of the Palm Springs vibrant dining scene!
1501 Uptown Gastro Pub and their sister restaurant "849" are some of the reasons I am moving to PS full time.

This new restaurant in Palm Springs is very good. We had Sunday brunch sitting outside. The atmosphere is great, the service is great and the food is great. I had the beer cheese, blue crab and lobster sandwich with the best homemade fries and my spouse had the blue crab Cobb salad. Both were good portions and delicious. And we both had tasty Bloody Mary’s. And the Brûlée banana with pecan maple sauce for dessert. Although a little ways from the main Palm Springs haunts on N Palm Canyon it is well worth the short distance to visit 1501. We will be back for dinner next time.

I went here on a Thursday evening with 2 friends for dinner. I made a reservation through Open Table, which was necessary since this place seems to fill up, quickly. It is a very cool and hip space with a great wrap around patio that sits on North Palm Canyon Road. They have a parking lot to the side of the building with plenty of space. We arrived on time and were seated, promptly. The server greeted us immedately and took our drink order. I started with the Latitude 33 Blood Orange IPA, which was very good and tasty. My friends both had the Lemon Drop, which they enjoyed. For starters, we had the pretzel (excellent) and the shrimp (good). The shrimp consisted of 3 large tiger shrimp with sauce and was priced at $15. We all felt that was much too high. For my entree, I had Willie's Shepherd Pie, which was excellent. My friends had the cold roasted chicken sandwich (good) and then chicken fried chicken sandwich (very good). You can choose your side and one friend had a salad while the other had the fries. Their fries are amazing and it was my favorite item throughout dinner. For dessert, we had the bourbon and sour cherry bread pudding (good) and a blackberry crumble (excellent). The service and food were good, but I felt the prices were a bit high.

I came here on the recommendation of my hotel and am so glad I did. First, they do the right thing with masks and requiring a Vaccine card. I felt very comfortable and safe there.
Because I was by myself, I sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and knew how to make drinks. Their cocktails were superb. (I had the 1501 Manhattan. Sublime).
I asked for recommendations on the food and he suggested the Short Ribs. I hmm'ed and haw'ed because I have yet to have a good short rib. I'm never understood the fuss. But, this was made with Kobe beef, so I thought I'd give it a try. WOW! Full of flavor and the au gratin potatoes and tender whole carrots were the perfect accompany to it. Emboldened by the newly discovered short rib,
I went with a dessert that I've been disappointed with too many times. I think I just don't like Flourless chocolate cake. (I know, shame on me) This was not the restaurant's fault at all, so no dings on them.
The atmosphere was pleasant and all the staff exceptional. The bartender said he was working Tuesday and Wednesday night this week, so I WILL return one of those nights. What a treat this was!

This gastropub is a little off the beaten track but both the outside and indoor areas were stylish and the restaurant was busy both times we dined there. The menu had lots of interesting choices and service was attentive. The brisket burger was excellent but the spicy shrimp salad wasn't spicy, had just 4 prawns and lots and lots of lettuce for $28 which I thought was lousy vfm. We chose better the second time we ate there and everything was delicious.

Rejoice foodies and locals alike! There's a new kid in town and you have to stop in for great food, chill atmosphere, and a welcoming and attentive staff. Just a few weeks into their new life on Palm Canyon, 1501 Uptown Gastropub (1501) has plenty of parking, huge patios and 'garage doors' that give it an open feel with great airflow and noise reduction. Enjoyed the Chicken Wings appetizer that paired well with my delicious fruit IPA, segued to a succulent pork dish with a sour cherry reduction and finished off with a unique and addictive version of bread pudding that you must try. Both our waiter and manager made sure our every need was met. So happy there is a new place to call "my local hangout!" See you soon 1501!

My salad had zero dressing on it to start. And the burger was so overly complicated that half of it fell out while I was eating it and by the end the bun was soaking wet. I understand how these young chefs have to make their burger more over complicated than their competition but at least have a regular American cheeseburger as an option. Don't mess with something as ubiquitous as a cheeseburger.

This place knows how to do service right. From the moment your vaccine card is scanned at the door, you are treated great by the entire staff. The servers are friendly and attentive and the managers are always on the floor, not just supervising, but running food, checking on tables, and generally ensuring that the experience is a good one. It's exactly how a restaurant should be run. We've dined in several times, for dinner and brunch, and every dish is terrific. Favorites include the corn chowder (vegan, but so good you won't miss the cream), shortrib hash (brunch) with beer cheese sauce, and fries. There's something for everyone -- and a small, but interesting wine list. Huge patio for outdoor dining. Inside is lively (and can get loud), but you'll feel at home by the way you are treated.

Our dear friends treated us to dinner since we came to vacation here in Palm Springs; we showed our vaccinations cards in order to be seated indoors. I had the fish and chips with Woodford reserve neat; spouse ordered braised beef ribs with craft beer. We all enjoyed our dinners and fun atmosphere, another great experience in Palm Springs. Lots of parking; we will be back again.

The menu writer for this place is a lot better than the cook. My cold chicken and Gouda sandwich on focaccia was so ridiculously tall that it was impossible to eat it. The chicken was unseasoned and the Gouda was right out of the grocery store. Trying to eat a massive sandwich with a knife and fork was also impossible as it came on a plate that was too small. The home cooked french fries were delicious, however, crisp and flavorful. My friend’s shepherds pie looked appetizing at first, but ended up having little flavor even though the quantity was generous enough. My other friend’s pork shoulder appealed to her a great deal. It was also a large portion. The cocktails were absolutely second rate. Too sweet, not particularly strong enough. I was able to get a smaller draft dark beer and that was fine. Big dining room and big outdoor spaces. On the other hand, it had rained and the seat cushion for the outdoor seat was soaking, as it turned out and so I became its victim. The house managed to acknowledge that it had rained and some of the cushions must’ve gotten wet. One might’ve thought with the wet seat cushion that a dessert might’ve been comped. But it wasn’t. If the food and beverages would have been great, we might’ve overlooked all of this. But they weren’t. Can’t really recommend this place. There have to be better places to choose in Palm Springs.

Another great new dining experience in Palm Springs.
Under the ownership of the highly successful 849 restaurant's owner, Willie Rhine and regarded culinary caterer, Chad Gardner, this restaurant was a hit from day the day it opened.
With a varied and creative menu, everyone at our table was extremely pleased with the Shepherd's Pie, Fish and Chips and 1/2 pound ground beef burger.
The outdoor patios are so decorated to created a perfect ambience for a Palm Springs outdoor dining experience.
Great service...delicious food and drink....we will return soon.

We originally were to meet friends for dinner at 5:15 but they canceled out. We only found out as we were getting into the car at 5pm. We decided to call and make our own reservations as we had not tried this restaurant yet for ourselves. Luckily they said 5:30 and we were on our way a few minutes later arriving just 2 minutes early. They took us right in. Within 30 seconds ice water was brought to the table. About 5 minutes later our server Ryan came over. Everyone was super friendly ( great) , but i guess since there were at least 6 tables for 4 empty in the center of the restaurant they weren’t too busy despite offering us 5:30 or 7:30 as the only slots available. ( 5:30 was fine but they could have said anywhere from 5:30 to 6:30) at any rate, service came out extremely fast, we ordered onion rings (13) to start which one order is plenty for 2 to share, then the Black Cod (36) which is served scale side up all blackened. And the Under Brick Chicken(28).
Both servings were shall i say “Paris sized”, though very tasty and ample when having an appetizer first, and later desert.
The deserts we ordered were the flourless chocolate cake (12) and the brûléed banana. (11). Both deserts were very small but very tasty each coming with a sliced strawberry on the side!
They do have a huge selection of tap beers, and a fine wine selection too!
We were out in 45 minutes total. Kida wish we could have enjoyed a bit more time there, but for some reason we felt hurried even though there were plenty of empty tables this day. They have indoor or outdoor patio and a very large bar.
Seem to be plenty of staff handy including very attentive water replenishment, and buss persons.

This place is a must go to and try place! All food choices looked delicious. On 2/27/23 the Palm Springs High Cheer held their banquet at this location and let me say it was above any expectation I had ever had. The managers, the staff, the facility all were so amazing that the words amazing just don't seem enough. I was referred to them by a friend of mine that is a wedding planner and just like I told her the place did not disappoint! I truly am so thankful for Willie and what the staff did. The food was phenomenal, it came out steamy hot, delicious and within minutes of each others( We had about 60 guests). Drinks were always topped off and the layout was perfect. I want to make if anyone needs a venue this is your place to have it! They made multiple accommodations for us which made it for the best service possible. I, the cheer board and the Palm Springs High Cheer Team thank Willie and everyone at 1501uptown for such an amazing time and food!

The food was described and priced as though it would be delicious - but was below average, with basic, pretty tasteless short rib, and 'glazed carrots' that were almost entirely raw. My wine was served with a filthy rim including a big waxy lipstick stain. Really surprised by the reviews, so it's possible that we had bad luck on a bad night - or else it's the kind of place that people just get drunk at so they don't notice that it's not good. The atmosphere was really loud (Friday night), so it was hard to hold a conversation. The table was busted and wobbly. We went somewhere else for dessert.

The front desk person at our hotel recommended we stop at this place on vacation visiting from Minnesota so we did. Such a great atmosphere with an indoor/outdoor vibe. Candlelit tables but also very chill and relaxed. Great drinks and food. I had chicken and my hubby had the charcuterie tray. Both amazing just like the staff.
