Went to this place with my friend the travel agent who know exactly what to order. Eggplant dish was exceptional but all the food we had was scrumptious, a delight to the tastebuds. They do ask you what level of "hot" you want and it is pretty accurate. The atmosphere is very casual so it wouldn't be great for a... More

Taste-wise the resto is fab, of course, being a foodie I know there's MSG on the food, using ready made ingredients too but nevertheless the taste is a fusion of real Cambodian taste. The spices & herbs were superb, only an authentic local can made this kind of cuisine superb! One thing though, the resto needs a facelift with the... More

Cambodia in California! We ordered the mixed vegetables and prawns as well as the Charbroiled chicken charbroiled w / lemongrass served w / pickled cabbage. The meal was healthy, tasty and cooked to perfection. The prices were very good and the service was wonderful too.

This place has been in business since at least the 90s, and it never disapoints every time I go. Love their BBQ chicken! They use thigh meat, which is much more tender than white meat. Just the right seasoning, and grilled just right! Yummm! Several options of curry chicken are also very good. Sometimes we even ask for extra sauce... More

We found this restaurant while looking for a place that was open on Monday. We were happily surprised to find a comfortable venue with good food. We are vegetarian and had plenty to choose from. We ordered Green Beans with Tofu and Broccoli and Tofu with Peanut Sauce, both of which we enjoyed.

Long before TripAdvisor or any other review site existed I lived in Oakland and would eat here almost weekly, sometimes twice a week. Now I live in The City and don't come to Oakland often but I found myself there the other night and just had a craving for what I remembered as the best Cambodian food ever. The verdict:... More

Phnom Penh House is a small restaurant that seems to be run by family members who care about the food and the service. The food here has always been good and I have never been disappointed. This has been our favorite Cambodian restaurant for a few years and is dependable and consistent.

Yummy, and the wait staff knew what items contained MSG. They very kindly re-made one dish so it would not contain MSG. My cousin had just been to Cambodia and proclaimed the food authentic-she plans to return!

We arrived late one Friday, shortly before closing time. That may have influenced our experience so keep that in mind. The people here were super nice, gracious and prompt service. We ordered the lotus root salad with shrimp, a seafood with chili sauce, and lemongrass tofu vegetables. They did well the lotus root salad, really nice flavors but everything else... More
