The service was great....we had Amanda ...she is a very pleasant server, always right on task and smiling,...we like her. The food was hot and fresh and was good. Loved the sake and the company of my lovely wife. The value was fair too.

Please, please, please Okas - quote ACTUAL wait times for to go orders. I am a local who patrons your restaurant regularly. But my one consistent frustration is the almost hour wait time for to go orders. Stop quoting 25 minutes please.

Oakhurst is a small mountain town where burgers and pizza rule, so ethnic food restaurants must cater to local preferences. Having said that, the ingredients are fresh and have eye appeal, are tasty if not particularly authentic. It's a good place to get a sushi fix if you can't go "up or down the hill" (Hiway 41).

Not a lot of sushi choices in the mountains. This would be average in the Bay Area but pretty darn good up here. I love the cucumber salad and the California roll. The sushi is good and the wasabi is very good. Service can be slow but relax and enjoy. It's a slower pace.

not what it used to be, but Alex who cooks at the teppan table is worth going there. his food is fresh and clean and always excellent. the rest of the menu is processed and only ok. the sushi is usually ok, but only that.

Oka's is a long way from an ocean. Consider that when ordering. The place was in a slump last year but has turned things around. My husband orders by the piece and has been happy. I always have the cucumber salad and California roll. I like both very much. The tea has a real sesame flavor that I like too.... More

I stopped here just by chance because I like Japanese food but I'm not sure what it was that I received. I ordered beef fried rice (Japanese?) and my girlfriend ordered a rice bowl. Mine was passable although the beef kind of tasted funny. My girlfriend's dish was chicken and vegetables in some kind of cream sauce (Japanese?, not!). I... More

It has become our annual routine to stay over night in Oakhurst on a Winter Sunday night on our way to Yosemite. Once again we had dinner at Oka's, and I think I need to lower the 4 rating I gave it in February 2013--even in the context of the relatively few dining choices in Oakhurst on a Winter Sunday... We went to Oka for dinner on a Monday evening. They have a good menu, lots of choices of rolls both raw and cooked. We wanted to try a few things, so we shared a King Dragon roll, shrimp and vegetable tempura, sake and deep fried plum ice cream for dessert. The King roll was made while we waited, tasted... More

Oka's has always been one of our favorite places to eat here in the mountains- but our take out order tonight was disappointing. We ordered what we thought was a "dinner" plate- which I had imagined would have been more than a appetizer size take out box. The Sushi rolls we ordered were mediocre and the fried rice was so...
