Go ahead and pass through all the other places in Oakhurst (except maybe Alice's BBQ) until you get to El Cid headed out of town. It has really good, authentic Mexican food, with nice dark interior that is great on hot days and an enclosed porch area on cooler days. Full bar, great service, you can't go wrong stopping here... My husband and I went for lunch thee first and really enjoyed our meal. We shared the chicken salad and it was delicious and plenty for the two of us. Service was very good too. Decided to go to dinner there with our son and daughter in law and we were very disappointed. Service left a lot to be desired.... More

We had been here a few years ago & we recall it was better. The waitress brought us chips & salsa to start. The chips had some sort of spicy salt on them. I was Ok with it (though it made them look a little like BBQ potato chips), but Mrs didn't like the flavor. We mentioned it to the... More

I purposely stayed further away from Yosemite to avoid the crowds and stumbled upon this neat Mexican restaurant on the way back from the park one evening. I've started eating Mexican food back in 1967 in real family hole in the wall places in KC and fell in love with the food genre. Yes you can get Mexican food almost... More

Being from New Mexico we don't usually eat Mexican food away from home but relatives wanted it. To our tastes it was rather bland but when we mentioned we were from New Mexico she brought out a "special" salsa that was quite piquant and enliven the food.

I was in town to run the Yosemite half and ate here one night. Really good salsa and the tamales were fantastic. Friendly staff.

We sat out on the back patio and watched the hummingbirds in their new feeders. Our service was excellent. Chips and their dip are tremendous. And the meals were exquisite.

This place does Mexican- American cuisine better than anyone else in oakhurst. Nice views large menu. Naturally, huge portions. Good service even when crowded, so don't worry about the crowd in front. The parking lot is nearly always full.

After coming out of Yosemite NP and seeing all the cars in the parking lot we decided to give it a try. What a big disappointment! The food was bland!! The portion size was large. The service was average (we had to try and get her attention several times). My advice would be go elsewhere and don't let all the... More
