As a rule, I enjoy Roy's for dining, service and ambience. On this occasion, however, I had purchased a voucher from Travelzoo for $59, offering a 4-course dinner for 2 with a top value of $120, including 2 non-alcoholic beverages. Fair enough. When we were ready to order, however, we learned for the first time that we could only order... More

One of our favorites, I usually look for a Roy's where ever I travel. The menu is consistently good as Roy's is one of three signature Hawaiian fusion chefs but he has the largest chain (not fast food) and he's the only one outside of Hawai'i. The ambiance was nice, the wait staff was pleasant but we had to wait... More

I have been a fan of this chain until last night. This location felt like a Denny's. Our waitress was put out and rude up until she delivered the bill when she felt it was to her best benefit to leave us with a smile and warm wishes. The short rib was a snack size and my daughters was 50%... More

Roy’s is one of my favourite restaurant chains for fine dining, special occasions, and their Pacific Rim flavours forming part of the innovative and creative cuisine. I first discovered Roy’s on a Maui (Hawaii) family vacation about 20 years ago. We enjoyed Roy’s high-quality, fresh ingredient cuisine so much so, that we dined there almost every evening. Having dined at... More

Our family ate there for dinner on a Saturday evening and not surprisingly, the place was pretty crowded. It took the waiter quite a while to get to us, which he apologized for. Unfortunately, that said the tone for the rest of the evening as drinks, refills and meals took a while and the waiter was too busy to check... More

I have visited this place many times and it always is consistently excellent. The bar staff are amazing. The rolls are magnificent. The happy hour is the best time to go. Do try their calamari ( not on happy hour) it is the best on the planet!

Roy's has changed ownership but the menu and Pan-Asian theme has remained. We had a tight evening planned and our server was deliberate and careful that we enjoyed the evening but left in time for our theatre curtain. This is a much loved restaurant which seemed to have lost ground, but happily is back as the full room supported! A... More

It's not just a fish house - although the fish is great, well prepared and presented. The braised short rips are superb. And don't skip the appetizers, they are great as well. Went for a meeting, with a limited menu in a private room, so didn't get to draw from the whole menu, but the meal was outstanding.

Went on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty quiet. It appears they no longer serve the chili edamame appetizer here. Service was good and the manager's checked in on us several times. They personalize the kid's ice cream sundaes which is a nice touch. The manager also gave a $20 gift card for our next visit. Roy's remains a... More

Wanted some fish on a Sunday evening, got a reservation at 6:15. Very crowded, a bit noisy. Had a glass of Roy's house cab to start (pretty good, BTW) and we both ordered barramundi, one of our favorite fishes. Served over white rice with a bit of bok choy and a mildly spicy sauce rich with butter. Dessert was the... More
