So here's the problem...is this place even open for business? We stopped by while we were in the area and the store looks like it's been closed for quite some time. It literally looks like they piled up everything in to the store space, closed...More

WOW, was I blown away with the attention to detail, quality and quantity of food, generous wine pours, but most of all the great proprietors! Looking forward returning in the near future.

Charming couple - way out in a rural area. The make great wines. Food is just okay, but ambience is priceless. They should be serving ONLY local organic - beef, veggies & salads, to support the health of the land, but they prefer the Costco...More

Well! We have found an awesome restaurant about 40-50 minutes through the forest west of where we moved. Larry Hogan, the owner/winemaker, started & sold the famous Barnwood label. He now crafts his wine under his Sagebrush Annie's label. The tasting room is on Highway...More

OMG, we (two boys and a set of twins) grew up in this area (ranch by Ozena Ranger Station in the 1960s.) Full with half-hour bus rides into town for schooling... The Cuyama River would flash flood and my dad would walk across with debris (rocks and branches, etc.) We missed some school when that happened.. Dad made a footbridge and it got wiped out. He then built a cable car and my brother pulled us across it with the bus waiting with Vane Fort as the bus driver...haven't been in the area since a reunion some years ago. We had some dangerous hunters from L.A. who would park and shoot at our little house. We would hike up the mountains and see Cougars and other amazing animals. I loved the mica shining in the sunlight and hanging out at the river or walking on the crunching mud curls. Finding King Snakes and Jack rabbits with enormous ears was a fun pastime. We could pick up L.A. stations and danced to Lloyd Thaxton and the Dick Clark Show. My sister and I were tomboys. The Wegis family were good friends. One neighbor stole a 30-foot tall windmill as my dad lay dying of cancer in the nearby town site. (As young adults would come seasonally to cut a 30-foot fire break around the buildings...) We lived there briefly, then moved into the town site. I am looking forward to stopping by when I am ever in the area again. Do you have a guest book?
