Well run establishment! Sat at the bar and was given extremely attentive service as well as good advice on ordering food. Fish and Chips are a must here. The fish is thick cut with very light batter and it all comes out of the kitchen piping hot. As we ate the owner came into the pub and made the rounds... More

This is a bit of Britain in Monterey. Fun atmosphere with a very good bar and authentic food. Lots of energy, at least during the Friday (early) night that we visited. Fun place and hidden down below street level half a block of the main street of (Alvarado St.) Monterey

We've been a couple of times to this British Bar. The food is pretty good and they have a good selection of beers. If you seat in the patio area, it gets pretty loud and people smoke in close proximity (sometimes). It is located next to Osio Cinemas, so after your meal and drinks, you can just head next door... We went here because we were looking for a pub atmosphere and maybe some music. Our food took under 3 minutes to come out, which automatically makes me nervous. The waiter brought us our beer then we never heard from him again until he brought the check. We were stuck down in a corner and felt like we were forgotten.... More

The decor is great. It feels very British-y inside, or at least what most Americans think of. The bar service is excellent. The beer selection is good, solid selection of U.K. Beers. I didn't try any food.

A group of 6 people sat in the bar area at the tables. Great service, good food and perfect pub atmosphere. Went here several nights and told everyone I met to go there. Friends had Irish whiskey and loved it. I had Black and Tans well poured.

This place has great beers but also a limited wine menu as well. You can get a hearty meal at a decent price relative to restaurants around area. It is down in the basement so no view here but fun decor. If you want a view, pay $5 more per plate own wharf.

I visited the Crown while on business and will return. The pricing of the food was very reasonable. The ribs were a little dry however very tasty, and the chicken was cooked perfect. The owner was very entertaining and would tell jokes which really just added to the enjoyment of being there. I will be going back to the area... More

I've got it from daughter in law, whose father is an immigrant from England, that this is exactly how the pubs in England look and taste. She ordered bangs and mash and my son had seafood pie and I had a taste of each. WOW! Good comfort food. I had English fish and chips ... They were very good, but... More
