Reviewed yesterday NEW

Nice restaurant, we were four and decided to share some of their medium plates and it was a complete success. Best Calamari I have tried in a while, an artichoke heart to die for. Nice dinner ambiance and not too noisy. Perfect evening.

Great food. We loved the kale salad and mixed mushrooms with polenta. The salmon with citrus risotto and the prime sirloin with truffle fries were both excellent, as was the bread pudding. Very friendly staff. They seemed short handed (it was a Sunday evening with half price wine special), so service was a bit slow, but since we weren't in... More

Had a fabulous dinner at this wonderful restaurant that's a converted firehouse. It's truly beautiful inside. The food was outstanding. Very good wine & Tito's on the rocks. We had the salmon w risotto and prime short rib. Shared mint chocolate chip ice cream with hazelnut crunch. Reasonably priced given the ambiance & quality of the food. Service was also... More

Went here on a Saturday night over Easter and really enjoyed. Nice lively atmosphere, great hospitality and some wonderful food. Not the cheapest place but well worth paying for a good night out

e had one of the best meals at any restaurant in years at Montrio. With a group of six, we had the opportunity to sample many of the small, medium, and entree dishes, and every one was truly outstanding. Shrimp, scallops, mushrooms, asparagus, lamb, and several desserts left everyone oohing and aahing. Service was excellent as well and the prices... More

My family and I stuck to the starter and medium plate dishes. Many of the medium plates are enough for a meal and some of the starters would satisfy light eaters. My father ordered the starter calamari which was a steak cut up and gently deep fried to perfection, we also ordered the salumi plate (superb), the short rib risotto... More

This was our first time here. The location is great, right downtown in the historic district of Monterey, near a lot of big hotels. Their menu is divided into three parts of small, medium and large portions. We had a few dishes of their small and medium size portions to share. All were delicious, except for the small shrimp appetizer,... More

We had one of the better meals in Monterey here. Excellent service. Great food. Terrific ambiance -- it is an old fire station that has been converted into a restaurant. High energy, good vibes ... but not noisy as some places tend to be. Really, enjoyed our dinner here. Had a Pilsner on tap which was one of the best... More

Not sure if my review can do this restaurant justice. It was so outstanding/excellent that we ate there three nights in a row (for dinner). Probably one of the best calamari I have had. Dinners were excellent with options for anyone. Wine - glass pour and bottle list - was perfect. If you are there on a Sunday, it is... More
