Being a huge Baja fare fan this menu is almost to die for. Most of the time everything is perfectly cooked and dished up with precision and freshness. Now and then, however, ingredients are assembled out of balance and you get an almost sloppy kitchen job impression. I continue to be a return customer but this place is a bit... More

I enjoy many of the salads and bowls. The small touches like serving their food on "China like" plastic bowls and delivering the food to the tables is nice. The Menlo Park store remodeled recently and is very comfortable.

The menu has a few special dishes that make this taco place above average, including the Salmon Chimichurri tacos. But the burritos don't measure up to the local competition. All in all, a good and clean place with bright decor.

Good Mexican style fish tacos that are fresh and filling. The food hits the spot and is very tasty. The special for the night was terrific.

As I was at the counter I noticed an employee walk in from the street and place her handbag under the counter. She immediately went to the prep area and started preparing orders using her bare hands. After watching her scoop lettuce with her bare, unwashed hands and place it on top of a tostada I walked out.

The seafood tacos are fine, no longer outstanding. The portion sizes, as taco fillings, reduced noticeably a couple of years ago. I think they count each morsel now. Sides of rice and/or beans are available, unfortunately the rice is always room temp. It's fine for taking a fast, sit-down solo lunch break or feeding the kids after soccer practice. It's... More

Lunch at Rubio's was a a real treat! Casual eat -in or take-out, plenty of parking, clean, friendly efficient staff and delicious food! We had the mahi mahi tacos and the shrimp and avacado tacos! They were so good, made fresh to order! I can't wait to return to try other items on the menu!

Rubio's has a large menu of seafood tacos. Most places have one option, here you have many. If you like fish tacos try Rubio's, if you've not had fish tacos, start here. I've been here a half dozen times and enjoy it. They give double tortillas on the tacos, easier to handle. Mexican beers, good salsa bar. I've never had... More

If you are visiting the Menlo Park/Palo Alto area for a short time, don't waste your time with Rubio's. It's not bad, but there are better fish tacos at a number of different places nearby, especially Sancho's in PA. Rubio's will give you a decent but ultimately forgettable meal. I don't know of anyone who's ever raved about it.

The first restaurant was opened in 1983 in San Diego by Ralph Rubio and his father, Ray, who started the fish taco phenomenon that spread across the nation. Today, Rubio’s menu has grown from The Original Fish Taco® to include additional chef-crafted seafood recipes that feature shrimp, wild salmon and ono. In addition to sustainable seafood, Rubio’s offers chargrilled chicken and steak, fresh made guacamole and salsas and sauces that are prepared daily.
