Had dinner with friends here. The setting is gorgeous, with high wood ceilings, large picture windows and lots of room between tables. I started with the Abalone and it had nice flavor but was a bit "chewy". The shiitake mushrooms and trout roe added some very nice flavor to the dish. My entree was the pork and it included a... Madera has always had good food with a very limited menu and prices that are on the high end. We had a very nice dinner to close out the year. The root vegetable salad was excellent with a crunchy grain and yogurt base topped with baby vegetable roots. I had the soup which was good and the rib eye. Which... More

First, you should know that the prices are somewhat on the high end. But considering the area (in the heart of Venture Capital country), the prices are pretty reasonable in my opinion. I went in the middle of the cold season and the place reminded me a ski log. A couple of fireplaces going, everyone all bundled up, it just... More

Very nice facilities. People are friendly. Ordered Huevos Ranchero and presentation was very nice. Sorry to say it was not the best breakfast. They brought out Black beans in a bowl that tasted good but it was cold. I wouldn't order that breakfast again. The other guest didn't complaint so I think their breakfast was ok. It was one of... We had a business lunch here. Nice location right off the highway. Staff is very pleasant and attentive. We had accidentally reserved for two with a party of four. We were immediately shown to a larger table. The room is large but did not seem noisy even though there was a significant lunch crowd. Menu is simple and varied. Wine... More

Contemporary fine dining and bar within the Rosewood Hotel just off the freeway at Sand Hill Road. Food is well prepared, kitchen can be slow depending on demand. Servers can be top notch or average. Ambiance is quiet understated comfort and elegance. Everyone is there for business, and big big money. Beautiful women trolling the bar. The menu promises a... More

The dining room is beautiful, the food is always interesting and delicious, the staff is super gracious and accommodating. Love this place for meeting friends for lunch or for a special occasion dinner. No charge for homemade sparkling water. Good wine list, innovative and updated menus, Great view of western hills, never notice Hwy 280 below them, charming outdoor patio.
