We are looking forward to the Maxwell Inn opening for business after a long summer of being closed. We found the Maxwell Inn earlier in the year while attending races at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows. Traveling up & down the I-5 does not allow for a great number of food selections, but the Maxwell Inn sure does. Besides the eclectic... More

We wanted to return for a great meal. Even though we read that the restaurant was open. When we arrived, there was a note on the door that said,"We are closed for the summer." I wish their site was up to date.

Went with party of four. Two had chicken marsala, two had steak.good grub. But the fun is in the decor. Bears, Bison, Bobcats, my first Jackalope, and many other critters surround you as you eat. Such fun.

Maxwell Inn is not a place everyone knows about but once you have been there it will always be one of your favorites when you are in the area. Best Steak Sandwich in Northern California.

What a charming restaurant. Great food. I had the prime rib (available Fri-Sun) tender. Like butter. Someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. Service was super friendly. Kudos to Martha.

We discovered this great place to eat when driving on highway 5 going south. The name of the town Maxwell made us curious so we took the off ramp to check it out. Much to our delight we discovered the Maxwell Inn. The food was wonderful. It is the only place I ever order ribs. They are cooked perfectly, served... More

The staff is friendly; the food is excellent and abundant - I had lamb shanks & mashed potatoes; my fiancé had prime rib & baked potato - both were delicious & cooked to perfection! The atmosphere is rustic & elegant at the same time - lots of old beautiful wood contrasted by white cloth covered tables. However, if you're offended... More

This restaurant is NOT located in Colusa CA but in the very small town of Maxwell across the freeway about 5-10 miles from Colusa. Has a full range of salads, soups, and main dishes including chicken, fish, steaks etc. a small affordable wine list. Half the experience of eating here is that you are in a virtual museum of taxidermied... More

Food is good with a variety of wild game to choose from on the menu. The last time there we had to wait longer than reasonable for service. I was with customers (2) for lunch and we were late to our afternoon meeting. Foods good but I didn't appreciate the waitresses demeanor. The foods good if you have time to... More

Trip Advisor has the location wrong. It's in the town of Maxwell, not in a residential area of Colusa which is 30 miles away. The Maxwell-Colusa Rd changes to Oak St in Maxwell, it's at 81 Oak St, Maxwell, CA on I5, about 30 miles from where Trip Advisor places it. Looking for a place on I5 for a late... More
