We have been travelling in the west coast for 3 weeks and this was our best meal so far! Great food, wine/beer, service and ambiance. I recomend the barbeque ribs!

My Wife and I dropped by for lunch. It was not busy, maybe a handful of locals. After being seated we were completely ignored by the wait staff. No bread basket, no water not even a "I'll be with you shortly" My wife waved to a couple of them a few times but they avoided eye contact totally. After 10-15... More

My husband and I ate here and were really happy with the food and atmosphere. The 8oz hanger steak was AMAZING! It was so tender and tasty I wish I could of had room for more! My husband had the country fried chicken with a honey glaze, again he ate more than he should have because of the flavour and... More

Lovely place but you will need to book booked the four nights we were in Mariposa. The only down comment is the veg could be cooked a bit more each night it was like eating raw veg. But great restraurant plenty to eat without the veg.

I had the French dip, and it by far the best I have ever had. Layers of tender beef, perfectly seasoned on a warm toasted Bun. Aujus served on the side was rich and delicious. And the secret surprise has got to be the warm chips, made in house. By far the most pleasurable place we have stopped on our... More

When there on an off-season sunday night, along with a lot of other people, as it turned out. They were slammed to the wall, but the staff was coping fine. Got chicken in lemon and white wine, soup, etc, all of which were really very tasty, and the sage-seasoned bread was more seasoned and less covered in butter, which we... More

An impromptu dinner, at a packed evening sitting. Brief 10 minute wait and then seated. Very polite, friendly and efficient staff. Good choice of reasonably priced drinks was an added blessing. I had the half rack of ribs preceded by the French onion soup. Both excellent The 'war office' had the same soup and followed up with the lemon chicken.... More

There is not question as to why this is rated No1, the place is amazing. We were staying in Yosemite for two nights and decided to give this place a go, due to the good reviews I've seen. We got there around 8pm and we're quite lucky that they could fit us in, if I was going again, I'd defiantly... More

We had just spent the day at Yosemite Valley walking around for 11km. We got back to Mariposa and decided to have dinner there. We literally walked in off the street with no reservation at 6.30pm. We were greeted by the very friendly host. My husband had the New York steak and said it was the best steak he had... More

My wife and I ride my Harley to Mariposa a few times a year. Beautiful drive up and it's on the way to Yosemite. Watch your speed. CHP frequently patrol the stretch of road from Merced. With that all said. The Charles Street Dinner House was a nice quaint little restaurant with great food and cozy atmosphere. Food was great.... More
