Traditional and exciting new all in one.No easy equation, but 2 Square cafe manages to modernize breakfast cuisine in a talented way.

Cute bakery at the front. We got a few things to go to enjoy back at our apartment. We tried the pretzels, quiche, breakfast slider. Everything was pretty good.

Rockenwagner is small so you will wait a bit to be seated but it is worth it. They have the most wonderful burgers on buns they make themselves. You can have a pretzel bun or a different type of bun. All the food is great from their salads to their fries. The service is great. They are all friendly and... More

Delicious lemonade, fresh salads and other light dishes. We leave nearby and this is always a good brunch/lunch plan when the fridge is empty. Don't leave without trying the avocado fries!!

What a real find! We only ordered takeout of their XLNT pretzel shapes and when we got home, wow! were we happy pretzel eaters. The cafe looks really cool to sit and eat so next time we will stay a while. Their various breads are way too delicious. XLNT bakery to buy your favourite breads. For dessert, a short walk... More

Order Americano and got like one shot espresso and lots and lots of water so it got as week as coffee in any American diner. When I asked for a double espresso with water on the side it just turned into a struggle. Avocado toast excellent but I will not drink coffee here again.

Four of us went for brunch. Everybody ordered something different and everything was outstanding, with the burgers topping the list. The venue is quite small so expect to wait a while for a table. Service was super friendly - california-style. Please go!

Whenever I am in Venice, which is often, I have to stop by this special bakery. Yes, the pretzel variations are amazing, but the ginger scone is the best as well. You can't go wrong here.

On the last day of our honeymoon we decided to skulk about Abbott Kinney. After reading about the snobbery of some of the more well known establishments on the street, we saw Rockwenwagner 3 square's inviting veranda and took a chance. Our waiter was extremely friendly and genuine (not just chasing a tip). I saw Bundaberg ginger beer at one... More

Very nice café! Friendly staff and great food! Fries were to die for and sandwiches were awesome! Be sure to stop by their bakery next door! Great baguette!

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
