I had not been to the Rose Café since the new ownership had taken over thus was eager to try it. We went on a Tuesday evening arriving at 6pm. Immediately I was surprised with Valet parking being the only option available ($9.00) when the entire parking lot appeared almost empty. Next surprise: hearing, “a 3% charge is added to... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at the Rose Cafe. We were three and the burger and the crispy Russell sprouts with poached eggs. Yummy bloodies. The place was very busy but we waitress less than 20 mi utes for a table on Saturday.

The food was great for the grain bowl and ate it up (and I am not one of those health conscious people). The wait on a Friday afternoon was soooooo long and it was soooo packed so don't go hungry!

I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with our dinner at the Rose Cafe. I had never been there and it was selected by our daughter off the Internet for an impromptu family gathering. The decor is clean and utilitarian but very inviting with an airy, comfortable feel that gives it a family-friendly feeling. Even pets are welcome if you eat... More

We picked this restaurant because it was pet friendly. We made a reservation in advance and were told dogs were welcome. When we arrived a private party had booked the covered, heated patio, so they put us in the "beer garden" area. No special oet welcome, nor bowl of water provided. Service painfully slow. I had an unusual take on... More

Myself and my family went to this place for breakfast while we were staying at Air Venice Hotel by the Beach just up the road. We didn't have to wait too long, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It's a wonderful atmosphere to eat breakfast in, beautiful decor and hanging plants wherever you sit. Everything that we ate and... More

Everything here is delicious (the avocado toast is lemony and yummy), but It took me a couple of visits to find my true love, the breakfast burrito. It has avocados! And a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Their coffee is excellent. Dinners, too, are great, but I was staying nearby and partook mostly of breakfast. I'll keep coming back again and... More

Had the pasta carbonara and the meatballs. Both very tasty. Big terrace, great atmosphere and good vibes. There is also a nice indoor seating area where you can bring your laptop to do some work or just listen to music. 4 stars, the service can be improved

The good part: The coffee drinks are quite good. The crew is professional and accommodating. The environment is stunningly beautiful. The less than good part: Music tends to be way too loud. Overpriced for what they offer. $4 bagels, muffins and other bakery items? Rather bland stuff. If you pay in cash, they may not give you full correct change.... More

You would have to be exceptionally difficult to please to not like Rose. What a delightful experience! From the delicious food created with fresh, tasty and unique ingredients, to the great coffee, to the friendly and efficient staff, to the inviting atmosphere, there is simply nothing wrong here. Go! Savor! Enjoy!

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
