Normally when I rate a place, I try to reserve 5 star ratings for those that meet AND exceed expectations. Looking at the outside of this hole-in-the-wall strip mall location, and the aging tables inside, expectations were not super high. We picked it because we...wanted to eat at a local spot, non-chain, and a well rated breakfast. This one was on the shortlist we put together while visiting Tarzana and happened to be closest to our hotel. Food was a little pricier than a comparable northern California restaurant would be (based on appearances) but not by much - maybe a dollar or buck fifty higher. There were a couple of unusual breakfast items on the menu, which was nice to see. My wife had the steak and eggs, with pancake on the side and I had their Spanish Omelette, switching out the usual ground beef for chorizo when I saw that they had that available. The food arrived in a timely manner and the two fellas who served us were kind and attentive, though one of them kept trying to serve cokes to people (like me!) who had ordered COFFEE!! LOL. I was not the only one this happened to in the time we were in there. Food was good, basic breakfast fare and I really did enjoy the omelet - definitely recommend switching in the chorizo. The country potatoes had some corn and spice in them, so that was a little unusual, but welcomed. So at this point, this is what I would normally go with as a very solid and respectable 4. So why a 5? It's back to that exceed expectations. Food was very solid, but the service (minus the coffee/coke thing) was great. We were kept topped off on drinks, they asked if they could bring us anything else and/or how it was going - too often you can get ignored by servers leading to a negative experience. As my wife and I discussed upon leaving, there is a fine line between being well attended to and "bothered" and these guys didn't cross that. I would definitely return again at some future point after we've tried some other places that also made our short list on this trip.More

Greystoke has the best breakfasts and they’ll deliver food to you at the pub next door if you’d like. This restaurant is not good for spur of the moment dining. You can never tell when they’ll decide to close early so call ahead.

When I travel there are times that I want fast paced and insanity, but this past weekend was not one of those times. My girlfriend and I had just run 6 miles and were hungry. She had been here once prior and remembered the quality...and service. From the minute we arrived until we walked out the door, full I might add, we were welcomed and treated like one of the family. The food, service, price, simply everything was perfect.More

Been staying in the area and was tired of IHOP & Denny's so I found this little out-of-the-way breakfast lunch supper place. Great coffee company and your choice of flavored cream. Low prices great food the waitstaff is spectacular.

This restaurant is actually in Tarzana. A little hard to find. It's in the back of a shopping plaza just off Reseda. I never would have found it if I wasn't visiting my doctor. The restaurant is comfortable. The people are friendly. The food is...really good with nice size portions. The menu selection isn't huge but varied enough to find just what you're in the mood for. I would recommend and go there again.More

Located in the northeast section of a minimall area near Reseda and Ventura this small café offers delicious large meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A couple tables are outside. After choosing your own booth or table the friendly waiters descend with menus and keep...looking after you during the meal. This is far better service than most sit-in restaurants. The half-pound hamburgers are juicy and come with fresh onion, pickle slices, and tomatoes with an option of several sides including three types of fries. The beef dip was very tender and with ample juice for dipping. The cobb salad is large and filled with fresh lettuce and vegetables - also good. In fact, I have had no complaint with any of the menu items I've tried. Nothing is fancy, but it is well prepared and you won't leave hungry. The restaurant is just a short walk south from the Tarzana hospital and is definitely a break from the cafeteria food there. I think it is what a café should be.More

A very small, local neighborhood restaurant. Nothing special, but always a good simple meal. Terrific for easy breakfast or a quick lunch. Great location when visiting someone at Tarzana Hospital or a doctor in Tarzana. Servers are known to be friendly and attentive.
