We really wanted to like this place but.... we eat Vietnamese food frequently and would only recommend this place for lunch, NOT dinner. First, the pros. It is inexpensive (our dinner bill was under $40 for two). The Imperial roll, as an appetizer, was the highlight along with the home brewed hot tea. However, that is where the good times... More

Great Vietnamese food and a nice family. Although I typically get Imperial Rolls to go, we occasionally go in for dinner. Small spot with a homey vibe that feels like you're eating in her kitchen. Check their hours before you go.

I ordered Mi Xao with soft egg noodles, stir fried vegetables and de shelled shrimp. Everything was cooked just right and the portion right as I expected; it didn't leave me wanting. The pitcher of hot tea warmed me while I waited about fifteen minutes for my order. Not bad. Choosing one of the two main dish choices without red... More

I moved into this area and had heard about Nam's Red Door so decided to try it. I lived in Hanoi for awhile and know that the regions cook very differently. When I asked what region they are representing the chef said all regions and no regions we just know what works. So with that said I ordered the Curry... More

Finest Vietnamese restaurant in the L.A. area. Great location (San Pedro, near the water and convenient to Fort MacArthur), excellent soups and curries.

Took a friend of mine who had always avoided Vietnamese food - for one reason or another- and after ordering everything on the left side of the menu plus a bowl of the House soup to share, he vows to come whenever he is town. And if you knew this friend on mine, you would also say that he promise... More

I have been coming to this restaurant for 30 years. When I was young my patents would place me on the counter & I would eat fresh imperial rolls. I have been to many many restaurants searching for food even a fraction as good as Nams Red door inn & have yet to find anything that will compare. There Fresh... More

We had lunch on Friday at this little place on Pacific Avenue. We started with the Imperial rolls served with lettuce, cucumbers, mint and cilantro. Very crunchy and refreshing. The curry and vegetables with noodles were made from fresh ingredients and made you feel good to eat something healthy. Finished with the flan which was also very light and clean... More

Several of us dine here on a regular basis (1-3 times a week.) Collectively, we list the Red Door as our favorite restaurant. One of us has ordered the Chicken Curry faithfully for over 20 years straight. One of us favors the crispy egg noodles with chicken and fresh steamed vegetables and one of us is quite daring and always... More
