I have been to Katz deli and if we were to rate the experience i would have to say Langers win hands down. First the process isn't so confusing like Katz much much easier and they checked your covid and vaccination forms which was a...plus. What i liked about Langers was the meat was delicious which honestly Katz was also perfect but what blew us away was the bread. It was soft and delicate and delicious. The pickles were crunchy and delicious. The liver was awesome and rich. Coleslaw was fresh and tangy. We got the number 19 and the platter to share for 4 people and we had to take home leftovers. Really Good. You cannot miss this place or else you'd really regret it.More

Langer’s is an LA institution and it’s not hyperbole to say that they have some of the best pastrami ever. The pastrami is thick cut and the #19 is a classic for a reason. There is a generous amount of salty goodness that sets well...against the sweet coleslaw and Russian dressing. The rye bread is hearty and I like the crust, which is the right amount of crunchy and chewy. You can easily split a sandwich between two people for a meal and if you’re in the mood for a picnic, you can eat it right along the lake of MacArthur Park. Just note that the park is pretty crowded and there are a lot of benches that are directly in the sun. The chili cheese fries are also really yummy and enough to feed three people. The fries are crinkle cut and still hold their crispness pretty well even after putting chili on them. There’s also an option to get chopped raw onions as a side (which I’d recommend for some oomph). When you order takeout the chili and cheese comes separately so you can assemble it as you go along. There’s a good amount of pastrami in the fries too. They’re operating during coronavirus for takeout, curbside delivery, and takeout. They’re not offering validation for parking but they do let you park there temporarily while you pick up the food. Otherwise, there’s metered street parking a couple blocks away. They do accept credit cards.More

Other than the rather off-putting area that it is located in, I was so happy to finally arrive at this vintage gem to see what all the fuss is about. Old leather booths, counter, pie displays, and a veteran wait staff that were not only...excellent servers, but very friendly and gracious as well! The #19 (pastrami sandwich) is THE sandwich to order, unless, like me, you don’t eat pastrami, so instead, I ordered the tuna melt at the waiter’s suggestion. It was THE TASTIEST tuna melt I have ever had. The rye bread is sooooo scrumptious. Had to have a taste of the potato knish and the apple pie a la mode - both of which were to DIE FOR as well. The food was absolute perfection, although the prices are quite high, but believe me, you won’t leave feeling ripped off. Took home half the sandwich and enjoyed it the next day for lunch. I would definitely come back again!More

Unbelievable menu, though I normally go for the No. 19 with corned beef rather than pastrami, Iove how they cut their meats thicker than most delis so you get the moist taste of the meats and of course their twice baked rye bread is phenomenal...though I normally don't like rye bread. Great service, amazing food and Norm Langer has a magnificent legacy from his Dad.More

I am a pastrami fanatic. Finding a restaurant that makes its own pastrami is like finding a gold mine - almost impossible, but worth all the effort. Not only does Langer's make their own pastrami, but they nailed it!! Perfect texture, perfect level of fat,...subtle but amazing flavor. I did not even order any sandwich to go with the pastrami, just eggs. My waitress was super nice and guided me as to the best dishes to order. I ordered three entrees because the food was perfectly prepared, even the sunny side up eggs were spot on! My compliments to the chef, the staff, and the effort at making deli food as delicious as it can be!More

I've coming here for many years and it is ALWAYS spot on. I'm a traditionalist...pastrami on rye with mustand...nuff said. You can't go wrong with the The Legendary No.19 (for those who like their pastrami with a twist). Special shout out to JAIME who is...a "LEGEND". BTW Norm, your entire team rocks - time after time. I visited with 3 people from the east coast and we all agree this is the best pastrami we've ever had. We were a large party (6) but the hostess was so nice and seated us right away. Service was excellent. Our server, Frank was...super helpful and friendly (the sandwiches are BIG and you can order a half with matzo ball soup) Oh, and the cheesecake!More

There is no other in comparison. We have eaten pastrami in the best NY delicatessens and thy are all just .... meh, compared to Langer's. Everything about this place is perfect. We featured it on our YouTube channel Video # Sv2SsRvv5_E In this video we...interview Norm Langer and found out some important information about the restaurants futue... This is truly breaking news for Los Angeles. THe end of another American legendary institutions may soon vanish. BTW... This is the best delicatessen and has so many great qualities like Curb side Pickup. The menu is outstanding and all the favorites are served up with unbelievably quick speed. If Norm Langer is the guy who started Langers, he passed away. As to exactly who cuts the goods now, I am guessing it is the person with the big knife and gifted eyes and hands. Levity never (?) hurt anyone. If it is... More
