Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited Griffith Park on a Saturday morning and after hiking up/down the trails to the Observatory, I was hungry. There was a line when I walked over to this food shack/hut and I quickly got in line. It was slow moving and I had a nice chat with the couple behind me in line while we slowly inched up the steps. I got the avocado sandwich, a cheddar biscuit and a lavender shortbread cookie. The sandwich was REALLY good, with lots of avocado, tomato and sprouts on it. Even the fake bacon bits made the sandwich better, by adding crunch and saltiness. The lavender shortbread was buttery and salty with just a touch of lavender in it, which ensured it didn’t taste like soap. I saved the biscuit for later and it was very good, but I recommend having it warmed up (I didn’t have that option). Highly recommend this place.

I had frittata and chai latte tea, other had coffee and chickpea sandwich. All items very good! I recommend! We ate at the picnic shelter in the park behind the cafe. The patio was closed. We stopped earlier in the week, but they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It is a busy little place. You may have to wait to order. It is worth waiting. I will return.

Great little snack cafe near the Griffith Observatory, in the forest. A bubble of freshness appreciated in hot weather. Limited choice but we enjoyed ourselves. A few meters away, departures for several hiking trails. I recommend the stop!

Extra 👍🏻, simple and healthy food with quality ingredients. A real nice little break, far from the noise of the city, quiet under the trees. Everything is homemade, the sandwiches à la minute are perfect 👍🏻

A special little treat at the base of Griffith Park. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for! Definitely worth a visit.

This place was definitely worth the 10+ minutes wait. I took the quiche of the day and was amazing! The place is really lovely and quiet. Hope to come back one day!

Before walking into Griffith Park, we stopped at the Trails Cafe for a slice of pie and drink. Really enjoyed the pie which is clearly homemade, a good size portion - if a little pricey - and there was immediate service. Outside seating and plenty of it. Recommend as a place to visit whilst in the Park area.

Our family loves this place! We walk deep into the park every day, stopping for a latte on the way in, then stopping again for lunch afterwards. All the food is made with love and delicious. If you like a hot dog now and then, try the Snake Dog. It's wrapped in a puff pastry and served with a small side of fresh fruit.

Hike up the trails in Griffith Park and recharge here with personal service and tasty pastries. The apple pie is divine and coffee is good. The garden has a few tables in the shade of the trees and you rehydrate and charge up in leisurely surroundings.

I love finding good hikes when traveling, especially when there’s a foodie payoff at the end of the trail. The Trail’s Cafe is exactly that! After hiking to the Griffith Observatory and/or the Hollywood sign, stop here for coffee, tea, pastries, quiche and/or sandwiches. The veggie quiche was on point!

This little cafe is in a lovely shadey spot in Griffith park, there are limited options but there seems to be an emphasis on healthly alternatives. There’s street parking nearby and a childrens play area, this was popular with Mum’s and their little one’s and there’s access to the trails in the park. We stopped for drinks and to take a breathe having walked around the Hollywood Resevoir and driven through the canyons (as per Googles directions) which is far scarier than Halloween scarefest, just don’t do it, visit Trails Cafe using main roads.

Visited this little outdoor cafe on a weekend and there was a short line. It is located in the vicinity of Griffith Park and surrounded by hiking trails. There is a playground across it partly hidden by trees. Free street parking is a plus. I ordered a cappuccino and a slice of homemade apple pie which I find lacking in taste. I will drop by again next time I am in the area and try their famous avocado sandwich. There are tables and benches next to the cafe under the trees. It was peaceful and relaxing place to eat. Just be careful sitting under the trees in case bugs or bird droppings lands on your food.

Best vegan apple pie ever! The pumpkin pie tasted like it was made from someones family kitchen. Great pricing. If I was the owner, I should be very proud of myself. This place is also a dog hot spot :)

This is a great place to stop when doing activities in the park - but it is so good we have made the trip there just for the food. My absolute favorite veggie sandwich in the world. The lines can get long and everything is made to order so enjoy the park while you wait.
