I have only eaten pastries here. They are both delicious and beautiful. The lunches that they were serving looked great. I was sorry that I wasn't hungry! I definitely will return when I am. A little bit noisy, but everything else was and A +!

We went there for dinner, and it is one of my favorite places in LA. The food and the ambiance is great. DO not forget to grab macaroons on the way out :)

We stayed at the Sheraton a block away and thus Louie became our favorite place for breakfast and coffee. The pastries are as good as you'll find anywhere. The space is cavernous, unadorned, but the food takes center stage. Perfect, attentive service. Not inexpensive but worth the money. Everyone is well trained, from the barista to the bus boy.

This is quite a large restaurant with a massive bakery space up front and 3 eating rooms. Kitchen churns out lots of pasta dishes and the pizzas but go for the dessert. The make good macaroons but they cakes and pastries excellent, pair with a coffee and be satisfied.

My friend and I were looking for a place to give us some dessert after dinner and we decided on Bottega Louie, we were not disappointed at all. The place is nice and clean, the service was quick and attentive. Above that, the list and the look of dessert is something to smile for. Did not try food but it... More

On our walking tour of downtown LA, our guide told us that Bottega Louie was the first restaurant to open downtown that wasn't very high-end or very low-end, but catered to local residents. It was so successful that many other restaurants soon followed. But he said it was still the best. So at the end of the tour we went... More

Wow what a disappointment 2 decaf Capps and 1 regular both came out like heavy latte. Ordered at the counter twice and finally the manager offered to give $ back. We asked for it back but given it to pastry front staff. How could they not know how to make a proper coffee- Fix it !

Some of the tables on the dessert side can be a little close with people walking by very close to where you are sitting, but you can choose to sit in a place where this won't be a problem. Mu husband ordered a pizza. It was $22, which may be a little pricey for a pizza, but he liked it... More

Came here with my two teenage children for an early diner. The pasta we had was all microwaved, and pretty bland. The waiter however was very nice, as was the atmosphere. The food was definitely not the best for the price.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
