We had the beets, brussel sprouts and the four onion pizza and everything was delicious! The back patio is a lovely place to have lunch. The service was very good. Be advised that they automatically charge a 20% service fee, which is distributed amongst all the staff. Would like to come back to try more dishes!

Been here twice in a week for lunch. Waited about 15 minutes and then 35 minutes (that later was arriving just before noon on a Monday) to sit in the sun outside and totally worth it. Perfect out there. We had their small pizzas each time which were wonderful. Hard to describe but the ingredients were amazing and the most... More

We snagged a reservation for brunch at this popular and busy Venice spot. Upon arrival the desk prepped a wonderful table in the garden next to the fire pit, weather was a bit chilling that afternoon. We immediately saw friends from NYC that were doing a couples brunch as we were. As we settled in with a Michalada and Ginger... More

Gjelina and/or Gjelina Take Away (GTA) are an absolute must when in Venice and this review is about GTA. The brisket banh mi sandwich and mushroom pizza are incredibly tasty and I highly recommend trying them! They make the most delicious brownie I have ever eaten, rich chocolate, fudge-like, thick, and just fantastic! They also have great breakfast choices. The... More

As we entered the place it did not look anything special, but surprisingly Gjelina turned out to be a culinary highlight of our trip to LA. Outstanding quality of food compared to several expensive dinners we had in town. Interior is very simple and the place is extremely noisy but the way they cook vegetables and pizza is just outstanding.... More

Our LA based friends took us here to grab a pizza! Wow, what an experience, a lovely tasty pizza was devoured - we had a takeaway, i'd certainly recommend this place if you fancy a quick eat near Venice Beach.

Everything was on point. Had the burrata, kale salad, pork belly, lambs neck and chocolate tart. Pork Belly was over seasoned but other wise a fantastic meal. Fabulous service from Ashley aka ashmojo. Definitely recommend and already looking forward to going back next time I'm in the LA area.

This is a wonderfully quaint place with excellent wait staff (Jeff) but I am sorry, a nine grain pancake for $12 is a bit absurd. I am talking one, not two, not a stack, and absolutely nothing with it. Tasty, but not worth it. Moroccan egg bake, also tasty but for $17 not the value. Scramble eggs and smoked trout... More

Girlfriend took me here for my birthday dinner, the food was good but the place just wasn't our scene, the tables are very close together so we heard all about the life of the people beside us, the service wasn't very good, they just didn't seem to care about us, we were outside on a cold night so that didn't... Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
