Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ate at A Dong on our daughter’s birthday. Had a great lunch with fresh summer rolls, garlic eggplant, passion fruit smoothie! Wonderful find! Excellent food with lots of vegan options!

I've been coming to this restaurant for many, many years, since it first opened in a different location. A lot of times the dishes change over time as chefs change, but the quality of the food has been very consistent. I say I've never had a bad meal here, and I've had many. The prices are very reasonable, esp the lunch specials, and the menu is very extensive. Plenty to eat if you are vegetarian. My favorite dishes are the grape leaf beef rolls, and the filet mignon. They have really good smoothies too. The service is always friendly and fast.

This restaurant has been around for a long time. First it was in Colton city and then it moved to Loma Linda city. I have been going to this restaurant for more than 30 years. The food is good and tasty. It has a lot of regular customers.

Authentic vietnamese cuisine, fast service. Have tried many dishes and all are done well. My favorite is clay pot fish. They serve fresh coconut water and their coffee is phenomenal.

Was the first time eating there. Food and service were very good, although a bit pricey. Have not returned. Maybe if less pricey would go back often. Good for the area and convenience.

I have been eating at A Dong since it was located in Colton, CA, which was about 30 years ago. I love their food, but I have to admit the service has not always been up to par. Today was an exception. Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was great also! We arrived for a late lunch at 2:00 and the lunch rush had dissipated, of which we were very glad to have the quiet so that we could converse more easily. They are usually so busy, it is understandably a little loud during the lunch hour. My friend and I always start with the Crispy Chicken Spring Rolls, which are served with romaine lettuce, cilantro and mint for wrapping around the rolls and fish sauce for dipping them into. So delicious! I love their Wonton soup, so for me, this is a must have when I am there. In addition, we never fail to order the Combination Fried Rice, which has chicken, beef and shrimp and is always yummy. The rest of what we order varies. We usually try to order something that we have never tried from there before. Today, we tried not just 1, but 3 new dishes! We ordered the Banh Mi with Roasted Pork with Vietnamese BBQ Sauce, the Curry Chicken lunch special, which is served with white rice, green salad and soup of the day, and finally, we ordered the Beef Grape Leaves. I talked my friend into trying the Beef Grape Leaves, as she was very hesitant because she has had them at Mediterranean restaurants in the past and never liked them because of the sour flavor they usually have. These Beef Grape Leaves, we both loved! They were dense and flavorful. They were served with rice paper and hot water that you lightly moisten and wrap around the Beef Grape Leaf roll and they serve it with fresh cucumber, mint leaves, lettuce, carrots and bean sprouts to add to the wrap. The Curry Chicken was perfectly flavored with just a hint of spiciness and the Banh Mi was good, though I would have preferred it on a baguette instead of a french roll. I love bread, but I feel that there was too much bread and overwhelmed the meat and veggies inside the sandwich. Our servers were attentive, and informative. This was a spectacular visit. I highly recommend A Dong restaurant!

My friend who used to live in the area 15 years ago said this was the best Vietnamese food she had ever eaten. We were at a conference and stopped in for dinner. She is right!

We went here after we found a Thai Restaurant we wanted to visit in the same strip mall had been closed. Should have exercised some impulse control here. Rating marked down due to the extremely slow, overwhelmed, disheveled service. I think lots of people were going in here because the highly rated Thai restaurant that HAD been (nearly) next door had closed. We visited near the end of a usual lunch time rush, about 1:30 p.m. and there was one waiter, one bus person and I saw one other older gentleman that looked like he was in charge of dish washing (he did not bus any tables). The bus person had to clear a table for us in the back of the restaurant as it was cold in the front near the doore, so we waited for that; there were many tables towards the back awaiting bussing and cleaning. After being seated, it took 15-20 minutes to get the single waiter over to order, Then, it took 45 minutes to get our food. Several other tables were already seated with customers and they had not gotten their orders, so there were quite a few dishes in front of ours. Sister, after 40 minutes of waiting, gave them 5 more minutes to deliver our food, then we were walking out. Food started to arrive in 4 minutes (it is funny now, but she was starving as she done a 24+ hr fast for a medical procedure, and she was hungry and grumpy!). Food decent, pho tasty, everything cooked nicely, the small, inexpensive bahn mi sandwich was good, but the staff was overwhelmed service-wise. But wait, did I mention that we had 3 bowls of pho, ordered more extra veggies/beansprouts/basil and were told that the only beansprouts to be had were on the single plate we got, and they were totally out of basil? And that the cook or someone was out trying to buy more at a super market? (it was the beansprouts they were attempting to buyh, because more of those appeared, but not basil) I know they are a small business, but you really need to make things easier on yourselves: at least one more person serving and bussing tables during lunch, and for heaven's sake, get a wheeled service cart and bus tubs to clear those tables much faster when you are understaffed, please. As it was the single bus person was stacking plates and having to walk back and forth several times just to do one table, and I saw no super rush on his part. . . Not recommended, and if you do go here, make sure you understand you may be waiting quite a while, especially during lunch or dinner.

I wasn't very happy with the service. We just moved into town. Today was my first time coming to the restaurant. I went in to order take out and no one acknowledged my presence for 12 minutes. Finally a young girl asked if I had been helped and I informed her I would like to order the meals to go. Then someone else walked in. The young girl said ok and left me at the entrance while she seated the person behind me. I thought she was coming back but she never did. Another 8 minutes went by and a second young lady offered to help me. I explained what had happened and she apologized. She immediately took my order and offered my son and I water while we waited. Even when her shift ended she was very nice and assured us the order is being made and will be out soon. When the order came, it was the first girl. She placed our order on the counter and took my card to process the payment. Then she left both receipts, a pen, and my card in a cup that she placed on the counter. Then again she left and never came back. I can understand restaurants can get busy but there were very few people at the resturant. I could hear the music in the background and the cooks coughing in the back. By the time my son and I left, we had been there for almost 40 mintues. If the service was better I would come back because my family likes to eat pho. The previous places where we got pho, the people would get to know us by name. Too bad. Now we are on the search for a better restaurant.

Everything is incredibly delicious. Haven't had a dish yet that's not phenomenal. I would recommend the sweet and sour soup though. The flavors are so fresh - the best I've had.
