My husband and I visited El Pescador Fish Market in San Diego with friends when visiting La Jolla this past December. I love the casual yet trendy vibe of the restaurant - I was immediately drawn to the ambience upon arrival. While it is first come first serve, we managed to find a high top table for our party of... Tried this place our last night of vacation. I had El Pescador salad..... outstanding! Fish is so fresh and flavorful. My husband had sea bass plate, and loved it. Such a great meal! Not the place to go if you want quiet and romantic, but if you want incredible seafood, this is it!

We loved El Pescador so much we came back again the next night. Fish is so fresh - lots of variety and loved the options of salad or sides. Highly recommend!

The New York Times "36 Hours" column featured San Diego in mid-February. El Pescador was noted as a great spot. It was! Very fresh fish reasonably priced. It reminded us of Bear Flag Fish Company in Newport Coast--on a bigger scale. Busy place. Expect a wait at prime time. Some reviews noted that food is served on paper plates. Maybe... More

Absolutely loved it! Went on a Friday evening, great staff and the yellow tail sandwich was amazing. I would also suggest getting the oysters.

This place was busy and has limited private tables to how busy it is, however there are very long family style tables available, which is were my wife an I sat. We didn't mind it and certainly weren't bothered by others in close proximity. The food is amazingly fresh and delicious with a very large selection and choice of how... More

I thought I got over my fish binge in Hawaii, but lost all control when we walked up to the case displaying the beautiful poke. The Chioppino was awesome. Get the large or you will end up going back for more. It is that good.

We were blown away by the fresh, modestly priced seafood offerings at El Pescador. The fish tacos were amazing, the fish is rotating depending on freshness. Communal seating, but everyone seems to be able to make room. Clam chowder was also amazing.
