The pizza on Friday nights are the best - truly! My son said his hot chocolate 'was the best he has ever had' - we enjoyed the beer choices and all of the food - so good!

This was a wonderful place to stop off on our road trip. Beautiful location by the river, friendly, welcoming service and the best pizzas we've had in the States. They made them exactly as we requested, well baked and thin crust. And they used a real wood oven! Good coffee and an interesting selection of gifts. Thank you, Strawhouse Cafe... More

Incredible coffee and pastries. Very good breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Great staff and as quick as they can be for making custom coffee drinks.

We stopped at the Strawhouse Cafe on the way to Oregon -- what a find! I had quiche with fruit and my husband had a steaming bowl of steel-cut oatmeal with nuts and raisens. We ate outside, of course, once we got a look at the view. It couldn't have been lovelier. Lots of green grass (we are from drought-ridden... More

We left Willow Creek, CA without having coffee, assuming we'd find a coffee shop soon enough. After having my plebeian tastes over-ridden by my Mother, she spotted this cafe by the highway. Always defer to my Mother on these matters. The coffee was excellent. The scones delectable and still warm from the oven, as were the croissant. And then the... More

A great place for amazing, local, organic food. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful, right on the Trinity River. We plan to stay in one of the cottages hopefully sometime soon. This is a must-stop on your way to the coast!

Food is delicious. They are very accommodating. Right next to the river with a great view. We even got to see a Bald Eagle! We stayed at the yurt for 4 nights. It'a a great place. A bit noisy at night but a great experience for glamping and relaxing. Many activities near by.

The Strawhouse Café is not in a big city or town. It is off the side of the road in a very tiny town off 299 HWY. But, this place is the perfect getaway for the day or weekend. The Stawhouse is made of straw with an overlay of stucco. The surrounding area is beautiful as it is obvious the... More

Don Ellis is an excellent host. Freshly brewed coffee and pastries are delicious. With the addition of a wood-fired oven, pizza is a good choice. The cafe has added a lot of local craftsman items for sale and features Alpen Cellars Old World vintage wines, unique to this part of California. The gardens and deck area offers a nice place...
