Nice outdoor seating for our dog. The apple pie wasn't too sweet and we brought home some apple walnut bread. The foccacia was nice too, a little to thick on the bread, but the flavor is great. People were very nice and brought our coffee to us outside. I think this little shop is often overlooked because it isn't on... More

We had breakfast at 3 places around Julian while visiting and this is by far the best. If I wasn't trying hard to lose weight, I'd have also left with a loaf of their awesome wheat bread, wonderful brioche, a pie and at least one more of the delicious cranberry scones (very tart with fresh cranberries and a non sweet... Thanks so much for the high praise. We have only been doing breakfast for about a year now, and love getting feedback on it. More

We only had the desserts--an apple/blackberry pie and an apple strudel, which were wonderful (not too sweet/not too bitter). They were able to give us a glass of milk (despite it not being on the menu.) Everyone's else's food looked even better--the egg dishes just looked fantastic. Location off the main road was great too. we could sit outside and... More

The food here is fresh, baked from scratch and absolutely delicious! Homemade, but better! They use top notch ingredients in a wonderful way. We had the homemade crepes, a salad and a panini! The baked goods were amazing - way more than apple pies here. The cookies were as big as plates! If we are lucky enough to visit Julian... More

Thank you so much for the praise. The past couple of weeks have definitely tested our ability to always serve a quality meal, but we love what we do. Hopefully we see you sometime soon and you can work your way through the menu. Cheers, Nico More

There are several great spots for pie and such, but this is the best one. Everything is made fresh there. The savory foods are excellent too. It's not on the main strip so it doesn't get a ton of traffic, meaning it's not a zoo when other places are. We always stop there when driving through.

We stumbled into the Candied Apple while wandering around Julian. What a great experience! All of their dishes are made from scratch homemade. Two of our foursome had the Monte Cristo, which is normally deep fried. This one was not deep fried, but rather was served on homemade bread wrapped in a crepe. While normally served with raspberry jam for... More

Stopped off for a refreshment break on a day trip to the area. The coffee and cranberry scones were very good. Also we bought an apple pie to take home - untried at present but looks delicious Interesting building in the middle of town. Service was friendly and helpful and prices very reasonable

Twice in twelve months we have gone to Julian and stopped by The Candied Apple. Both times we've gotten the Chocolate Bomb and it is truly, "Bomb". My boyfriend and I split it. The food there looks amazing! We always make the mistake of going elsewhere for breakfast, and then regretting it one we walk into The Candied Apple. Our... More

Candied Apple has some amazing desserts! Limited seating but there is a park across the small street with tables. Chocolate Bombs are to die for along with their cookies and other pasteries. They also have a good sandwich list and fresh bread and of course apple pie. Smaller things good for picnics as well. In the season cider and hot... More

By the name and the subtitle, I would not have expected this place to be a sublime lunch spot. I'd have expected good baked goods, maybe some good coffee, and standard sandwiches. But oh no! The lunch crepes here absolutely rival any lunch in the county, urban SD included. Service with a Julian smile and quality all around. Soups and... More
