I've eaten breakfast here twice, once out on the patio and once at the sit up counter. Both times were excellent! It's a local hangout, very relaxed, even though its packed with people. The waitresses are personable, I suspect the guy at the counter was the son of the owner I highly recommend this place, good home cooked breakfast!

I met a friend this morning at the Sugar Shack Café, a weekly event for us when the weather is warm. Sitting street side, with a full menu to chose from, is one of my weekly pleasures! We usually have pancakes with syrup and scrambled eggs. A great way to start the day! And, for visitors, the Sugar Shack Café... More

Sugar Shack Cafe is a favorite breakfast spot for locals. The vibe is very local and everyone knows you are a tourist. The food wasn't that presentable to look at and it tasted just okay. Maybe it was an off hour for us, but I was not impressed! I did like the crowd and ambiance, so that made it pleasant.

This place is off the hook! It's tiny, but the breakfast is not! I had the biscuits and gravy, now I am from the South where biscuits and gravy are considered a vegetable. They were great! I would highly recommend. My wife had a breakfast burrito that was gigantic! it was packed with flavor. The service was great - I... More

Breakfasts at this establishment are not to be missed as can be seen as they not only have seating inside but out front and a larger area at the rear. The food was good and the coffee was plentiful and would only stop when you yourself asked them to stop, which we found to be unique to America. We tried... More

Went on a Friday morning and they were very busy. Put our name on the list for the patio in the front only waited about 10 minutes to get a table. Had to wait another 15 for the waitress to come by which wasn't a big deal as we were not in a hurry and just enjoying the nice weather.... More

After a few weeks on the road from San Fran down via Big Sur, LA we ended the trip in this totally excellent place called Huntington. We got the Sugar Shack as a recommendation from the concierge at the Viceroy in LA....... more than lives up to rating. There is a beauty in being what you are, totally relax, but... More

The sugar shack is a surf city staple, great food, great staff, good pricing and fun atmosphere. It is dog friendly so folks may not really like that part of it, eating next to hairy German shepherd or snippy yorkie. I usually just move. Most of the restaurants on main street are dog friendly because dogs rule Huntington Beach
