Came here with a group of 8 and we got the banquet, food was pretty good, loved the school prawns and cauliflower but the barramundi was poor quality and the eggplant ratatouille was very bland, had to request salt. Also was a somewhat underwhelming banquet...compared to places like mr miyagi. Acoustics aren’t great in there either and in a large group you do struggle to hear everyone. Lastly and most disappointing was that I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc from Margaret River - as printed on the menu. 5 of us were drinking it and all started to complain about the flavour, it wasn’t at all like any other Sauvignon I have ever had! The more you drank the worse it got and when I looked at the bottle I noticed just how yellow it was and also noticed it was actually from Warrigal, Victoria and that it didn’t say it was a Sauvignon Blanc! After questioning the waiter they apologised for the misprint, insinuated we should have known it wasn’t a typical Sauvignon as it was called yellow yellow which according to the waiter means its heavier (not according to google) and then reluctantly said they would halve the price and suggested another bottle. After receiving the bill it was upsetting to see that they chose to halve the cheaper second bottle of wine rather than the more expensive one we didn’t like. Would not go again obviously and I would encourage others to think twice, there are too many other wonderful restaurants in Brunswick.More

We were here for a family get together, as my daughter had wanted to eat here for some time. Decore is middle eastern inspired and inviting, but not matched by the furniture. The wooden seats were uncomfortable and matched the simple wood like basic tables;...we didn't stay longer than we needed to. Food was ok. Some dishes were great (fried cauliflower), but others uninspiring (tomato sauce on the meatballs might have been more spicy from a bottle). The menu sounds great but delivery of flavours could have been better. Drinks list is adequate, although a regular coffee option might have been better than just the "turkish" coffee option which was delivered warm (not hot) and pretty weak and lacking in flavour. A bit pricey for what was served. Nice try, but didn't really hit the mark where we want to return.More

We had dinner for my daughters birthday. Very friendly staff, choice from the menu was limited. Food was tasty, small portion size for the cost of the dishes. The Freekeh salad was very ordinary and lot of rice inside the meat balls .

We decided to check this place out and try the classic banquet. We were impressed by the quality of food but found the servings small. The service was great and everything that was brought out was given an explanation. I checked out the drink menu...and the prices for a bottle of wine was a bit expensive for my liking. My partner found the food a bit salty and was dying for water once we left. We checked this restaurant out, but unlikely to go back. The venue is cosy, warm and well presented.More

I don’t often email restaurants but had to email them congratulating them on such exquisite high quality food. My husband ordered us a selection of dishes and picked them up as we are local to the area. We ordered the almond taratoor which was a...dip and delicious with bread, chicken wings (yum! I don’t usually even like chicken wings!!), balata harra (one of the best I’ve ever tried and yes I’ve tried everyone’s out there!), fried cauliflower (wow!! I was even able to grab the recipe for free off their website!!), Laban immo which is a delicious poached veal in yoghurt sauce, and the Advieh marinated lamb shoulder which was so tender and tasty!! That was for two adults and three children. Lucky the kids don’t eat much so there was more for me!! Classy scrumptious food that makes me proud to be a Melbournian and have this kind of food at my door step!More

I had a surprise 40th birthday for my wife at Rumi. The staff were very attentive, and provided excellent service through the evening. The food was stunning - simply delicious (we had the banquet), and the general environment was spacious and not too noisy -...perfect for the occasion. I can't recommend Rumi more if you like exotic flavours, ambiance and great serviceMore

We managed to book a table for a busy Friday night, it was packed, situated on Lygon Street its a Middle Eastern restaurant based on the sharing principle although not compulsory. Portions here are very manageable and you can easily eat the portion yourself. The...menu was very well explained and orders taken , we opted for some starters to share, delightful haloumi filled cigars, chicken wings and chicken shish were quickly consumed and delicious. Mains of lamb shoulder , fried Brussels sprouts with zaatar and fried cauliflower with caramelised onions were a great accompaniment. A very bussling lively place again with great service made it a very enjoyable nightMore
