We love this place! A gorgeous restaurant in an equally gorgeous busy setting, with a lovely relaxed outdoor area, a great space for kids. This time we went for NY Eve dinner with family and friends, it was generous 3 course set menu. Every one...absolutely loved the homemade antipasto platter for entree, mains were nice, no wow dishes like there normally is, unfortunately the red meat dish was to rare, fat not rendered making it inedible. The Dessert table was delicious especially the lemongrass cream brûlée - divine. This wasn’t the best meal I’ve eaten here, nor was it the most friendly upbeat service, but in the restaurants defense it was a fully booked restaurant!!. We will definitely go again, as we have had some amazing experiences at this place in the past, Happy hour sitting out in the garden is really a nice treat. Take note that they are only open for a short time over the summer and some special occasions like Mother Day Lunch, so be sure to check out there opening times before venturing out.More
In March this year Amongst the Sticks catered for my wedding in Howqua. They supplied all their own equipment and worked from their van, we barely heard or saw anyone. The owner custom made the menu for me to suit my theme and venue and...the food was absolutely amazing. People still talk about the food and there was plenty for everyone. Highly recommend these guys for your next function you will not be disappointed. Very helpful friendly staff made the whole process a pleasure and made me feel at ease. Small but very modern resturant. Open for the warmer months, closes in April. Very tasty menu, with a selection of local wines. Perfect for group Occassion or for couples.
Got lost trying to find this place on a very dark night but it was worth it when we got there. Has a small but interesting menu with daily specials. The staff are friendly and professional the food was well cooked. My wife had the...mussels from the specials board and I had the zucchini noodles both well cooked and tasty. We went there on a Saturday night for dinner and the food was of a really high standard. The lamb ragu pasta I had was excellent and I would happily have that many more times. The meals my other friends had were loved, and the...Rose wine we chose went down a treat. Our waitress, Melissa, was efficient, friendly and was a master of her job. She was another reason to visit, although all the staff seems very switched on and good at what they did. We all felt the prices were a little too high, even though it was delicious food...even a couple of dollars down would have seemed a bit more reasonable. We sat on the lovely deck, which truly is amongst the sticks, and we looked at a big mob of kangaroos going about their family business. A very Aussie experience. We look forward to going back again soon.More

It was so hard to chose a meal becuase it all looked delicious! It catered for everyones taste spuds as there where chicken, red meat, fish, pasta and vegetarian options. Yay.. sticks is open again.. and the menu is as good as ever.. the pork and prawn salad was delicious.. caramelized pork was soooo yum.. For main i had the chilli chicken.. oh how amazing those flavours were.. stuart and Ilena well done on a...delicious menu.. cant wait to come back for more.. ill be sure to book though you were pretty busy!!! We had a family dinner at Amongst the Sticks, sitting out on the terrace on a beautiful balmy November evening. It was so quiet and peaceful. Kangaroos and joeys nearby. Great food by Stuart and fantastic service from Rachel and Lou. It is well worth...the visit and is perfect for small groups or large parties. Stuart and Rachel are also incredible caterers. We have been to a wedding catered by them, the food was sensational.More
