We stopped in the bar first for a couple of beers before dinner. One of the USFS guys warned us that the bar was a bit rough and wild but it was absolutely deserted - on a Friday night! We moved to the restaurant for dinner and the food was OK - nothing adventurous but edible. The service was a... More

Traveling on motorcycles from Eureka to Yreka, Happy Camp seemed to be a good place to stop for lunch. Found the Frontier Cafe to have a good menu and an excellent burger.

This is a small café in a small town, so I'm probably rating what would be an average restaurant in a city a little higher because of their location and my expectations. We stopped for breakfast on the way to the Redwoods, taking the beautiful Klamath River route to get there. The staff was friendly and the food was good.... More

Stopped at the frontier cafe after 70 miles cold cold ride from Yreka was met by a lady from the Bronx New York who was the nicest thing. Income a fella from Boston Massachusetts who was an old Navy pilot and quite a character in his own right haha the food was great the volume was outstanding and the price... More

Food is high priced compared to other areas. Bought onion rings, French fries, a child's quesadilla and 3 drinks, bill came to $25 plus tip. Waited 20 minutes to get waited on, but we were warned they would be slow when we walked in so that was cool. Friendly people in general. Very rustic décor based on the towns old... More

...So I stopped in Happy Camp on a Saturday for lunch. The Frontier Cafe just sat there. It looked closed, even though the lit sign in the window said "open". There were no cars in the parking lot (usually a bad sign, especially at lunch time) I checked the door and found that it was indeed open. I was the... More

The Frontier Cafe represents the best in authentic dining in a remote, small town in California's north woods. The friendly staff, furnishings, cool menu and giant helpings will ensure you leave "fat and happy". I recommend the pancakes, hot teas and baked goods. You might be sitting near the local police deputy's favorite table and also rub elbows here with... More

I only tried breakfast there, with 4 others. Portions are sized for hungry, long-distance bicyclists! Everything is made to order, so be patient. I had the biggest bowl of real oatmeal ever. My husband had eggs, ham & good pancakes. Skip the corned beef hash if you are an aficionado. Friendly staff. Only drawback is having to go through the... More
