I love a place that has a story. it makes you feel connected to the others who visited before you, back in the day. This place has a great back-story (if you believe it). What it lacks now that it used to have (this is not my first visit) is good service. My wife loved her crab melt. My ceviche... More

The Miramar has a great patio for summer and spring months...and fall, if you can sit with a heat lamp. The service is good and the food was good, as well. They have beers and wine and some good seafood dishes. The fried calamari was really very well done--meaning it was fine!

Our family has been coming to Miramar for years and have never been disappointed. Our time of year to visit is crab season. This was a family affair for the holiday season. We were a table of 12. We started with our usual for brunch. Bloody Mary! Before you get too macho and ask for them to be spicy be... More

As a small group of regular customers, we decided to go early on Monday Jan.2 for a little celebration and wanted small dishes - the bar menu being perfect. Called to make reservation for the small room and asked if bar menu in effect -- yes, was the answer. Upon arrival, the bartender/waiter told us bar and happy hour not... More

First of all, beautiful view, esp because it was such a beautiful day. All choices on menu looks tantalizing. But since it's crab season, went for the crab melt. And the baby artichoke cakes. Hubby had grilled shrimp & castroville artichoke. Everything was fantastic. Service was the best. Decided to take some of the seafood chowder home for later. Since... More

What they do, they do well. The chowder is creamy and delicious and the crab cakes exceptional. They are a bit entrenched in a formulaic meal of (pick your) fish, rice, steamed vegetables like many fish houses. A bit overpriced. There could be a few more options -- hint, hint. The pastas looked great from the distance although we did... More

Everybody knows I'm a big fan of surf and turf, so Thursday, December 8, they were featuring a complete dinner with salad, bread, main course and dessert. We started out with a spinach salad, and then the main course, steak and lobster with veggies on the side, it was cooked to perfection it was wonderful meal. Topped everything off with... More

This is a place not to miss. The view, the food and the energy is great. From the Valley it could be a day trip, but an overnight stay might e nice.

Excellent food, outstanding service, and a site with quite a historical & racy history. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. I do recommend reservations since the dining room is of modest size. Ask for a window table. Comfortable feel to the restaurant and the bar area, which has several screens for sports viewing. We will definitely return on our... More

Miramar Beach Restaurant went out of their way to accommodate our group of 16 people (arranged ahead of time). The service and food was outstanding, as were the menu choices for the group to select from. They did a really first-rate job! Ample parking, outstanding views of the ocean, and fantastic food at affordable prices. What else could you ask... More

Description
The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and decor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side.
