I had read that La Cabanita's Caldo de Pollo is muy excellente so decided to try it on this rainy day when I found myself stuck in town due to a cancelled appointment. I arrived about 1:30 p.m. and the place was packed with patrons waiting to be seated. It took about 20 minutes and I landed a coveted window... More

We've been eating here for 25 years. It's gone from a very small, family place to something larger and more established (they will soon be open on Sundays). The chips and salsas are still good. And I've rarely strayed from my favorite - one each of taco norteno, taco arrachero and taco picadillo. And the tortilla is what makes them... More

I love this place. It started with the tacos then the enchiladas and the mole is outstanding, the tortillas are handmade, thick and delicious. I pretty much just like everything on the menu.

Never mind that it is in the tiny suburb of Montrose. Nor that its décor is not "Architectural Digest" perfect. La Cabanita has truly authentic Mexican ... not cooking ... but Cuisine. From the handling of the Masa, to the absolutely "spot on" Mole sauces, to the excellent drinks and tequilas, even the most experienced "fan and follower" of such... More

La Cabanita is always full as its one of the best options for authentic Mexican food in the area. They have a large varied menu.Good selection of margaritas. Service is always good. They recently started offering traditional Mexican breakfasts .Only drawback tis they are closed on Sundays . ..so no Sunday brunch!

This is a great place for any meal. Their chilaquiles are excellent! I had the pozole, good cure for a hangover. It feels very homey, and enjoyable. We like coming back often.

It used to be a great place to hang out, have a margarita and enjoy good Mexican food. But lately, has in the area there is no competition, both the quality of the food and service has deteriorated. Chipped margarita glasses (when you are lucky) or '99c store quality' plastic glasses. Rude service, margarita drinks poured out of a pre-made,... More

Not your average Mexican place. Forget refried beans and burritos. This is the place for moles, enchiladas and fish. Yes they have chips and salsa. Very fresh authentic southern Mexican food. You will love this place! Mexican beers.

An OK dinner was ruined by the environment...this place is NOISY! The acoustics are terrible...one has to yell to be heard...and, of course that only makes it worse! We sat in the back where they use cheap shelf paper as table coverings...very uncomfortable, very unsightly, and annoying...one would think, since they charge a lot for thier meals they could afford...
